Old label H. Upmann mag 46 may 2005. This seems a pale comparison to newer issues I have tried. Barely discernable flavor compared to what i remember. Too much age or am I not catching the subtle nuances as a result of aging? I have a few more to burn so I'll have to try to figure out.

Didn't happen to be packaged in a cardboard five pack? I picked up a "well aged" five pack several years ago (can't recall the year but 05 sounds about right) and the cigars were air bombs. No flavor whatsoever.

I too was very disappointed.....

I had seen for a long time a trusted vendor had 05s for sale at a good price. I wondered why so did some research and found that 05 was a bad year for Upmann. Sounded like from reviews I found that the common results were negative for them. I stayed away from buying because of those findings and this just makes me feel even better about my decision to pass on them.

Wow....sounds similar. Air bomb - good description. These were in a shpo in Madrid. Reputable place but he made a point of how these were 12 years old but i wondered a little as to why they were still in stock. Too good to be true? I guess i was lucky he only had 8 (which i bought all). Up until now i thought the mag 46 was a primo cigar. Picked up a couple of hoyo epicure, party shorts, HUHC and one party Ps d2. Hoping for some better luck there.

My problem is that before this experience, i felt the mag 46 was the best cigar i have ever had........and my fav cuban so far............making it more of a let down than usual. This is why i bought them. I also have some from 12 that i havent tried. Dont know the age of that greatest cigar experience that got me started on these.

Always a good time herfin' with Shaun at the beach.
I smoked an AF Anejo 46, and even tried some Elmer T Lee . . . one neat and the other on the rocks.
Sorry guys . . . I just don't like whiskey in any form. Scotch, bourbon, Irish none of it.
I went back to my room and made myself a big ole Pina Colada.
(Okay . . . I am now bunkered down awaiting the anticipated flaming for drinking such a "sissy drink".) RollEyes
