Great cigar, but I wouldn't go so far as to say the GE LE puts the Edmundo shame. Edmundo is a very nice cigar in it's own right. The Grand Edmundo takes the flavor profile to another level.
To be fair, I've never smoked an Edmundo with 7 years rest. I haven't smoked any from this box of LE's for a few years but if memory serves correctly, they were superior when I first picked them up in 2011 or 12.
Down time has served them well.
Flavors of the LE were remarkably smooth, crisp and complex with chocolate being dominant.... milk chocolate, bakers chocolate, coco powder and my favorite from this cigar; tootsie roll chocolate which I fon't recall having been as sweet as the younger ones I've smoked. The spice has toned down quite a bit with age and didn't contribute much until the final third with a bit of black pepper, which was fairly subtle and interesting. The cigar remained in the medium range from foot to nub.
I'm not a big fan of LE's so I only picked up one box. Now I'm wishing I'd bought more......
