Flor de Rafael Gonzalez Marquez CC
Flor de Rafael Gonzalez Marquez CC - smaller vitola

No clue on the vitolas. They were the same ring gauge but one was shorter than the other.

Very unique taste...didn't even taste like tobacco. They were decent overall.

Likely the shorter one was Perla and the other a PC.

Tasty smokes but not everyone likes them.

Yeah, it was a really weird flavor/taste. Never had anything quite like it.

BTW, the shorter one was much better than the longer one.

As with most cigars, they have their own unique flavor profile. I don’t think they taste weird.

Perhaps the source of your RF’s uses sweaty socks in place of humidity beads......

I could never, in good conscience, take your last cigar... especially if it's your favorite of the line. But the fact you'd offer it to me means a lot, Rick. Thank you!

I know for sure it didn't taste like sweaty socks. Just different, like it wasn't really tobacco..haha. Who knows, maybe I am just losing it.

Was just kidding. A vet who hasn’t been around for a few years once reported his cigars had a’funky’ taste. Turns out they had inadvertently and unbeknownst to him, stored with some gym socks.
He let them ‘air out’ for a couple months and they were fine.

I’ve heard some say Perla’s are a ‘poor man’s Monte 4, and to some degree I agree....the Perla does has a profile somewhat similar to the Monte 4.

I always pegged RGs as being somewhere between a Boli and a RyJ flavorwise, but hey, your pallet is you own.

PL Encantos - feel like these need an even longer nap, hints of what it should become.

HdM Epicure Especial - didn't dry box long enough, kind of an own-goal as it required frequent re-lights but had some good flavors hiding amongst them.

Pulled my last Monte #2 from a box I bought that contained one of the best cigars I ever smoked. It had some age, kept some strength, and was really good. It was one of the lighter wrappers that I've got with Monte #2s... I think I'm going to start asking for lighter wrappers.

HU mag 46 tubo '09 - Honestly, I bought two boxes of 15 tubos forever ago, and they just haven't ever tasted "right" till now. Starting to think there may actually be something to the "tubos age slower" thinking.

No year on this one, had it in my singles draw cause the wrapper was cracked 1/2 inch on the foot. Probably somewhere near a "14" and enjoying it so far.

03 HdM DD.

Love the DD’s as it is the first cc that really ‘wowed’ me many years ago and ultimately, was the ‘gateway’ cigar which led me to the dark side.
Smooth, on the mild side and extremely flavorful and complex......and Still holding up extremely well after all these years.
