'01 Diplomaticos #3- Bliss. Smooth, mild, slightly sweet (twang), flavorful vanilla. Makes me wonder why they ever reduced this line to only one cigar. ram27bat

Had an '08 CoRo last night which was leaps and bounds ahead of the only other one I'd had, which was from '12. Tip of the hat to KPP, very nice stick sir, thank you.

Dip #2 from the same box as Robert. Admittedly, my taste buds are not as sharp as they used to be due to a few years of smoking all full strength cigars, but this one was very tasty. A little coffee, but mostly very nice baking spices. Much tastier than the same smokes from a box of 2013's I have.

H. Upmann short corona. My birthday cigar and party for one.

Incredibly delicious cigar. Tastes like a cigar should. No bite, no pepper, just smooth rich sweet nutty pecan cream.

I think I may be becoming a Habanos convert...

Cannot get enough of the PL Montecarlos from the wonderful AME factory.

Also trying to keep my mitts off of the Upmann PCs I've got. I need to go real deep on these.

NO! Turn Back! Once you've gone, there are precious few NC brands that will make the cut (Fuente, Oliva, Tat, and a few La Auroras are about the only NCs I'll stock anymore)

nice smoke. forget the year but it's been a few.
just getting started and I'm in for a treat... I can tell. the first third is reminiscent of a trinidad Reyes. grassy and sweet honey.

I'd say it was too dried out for sure! Once PLs are aged (and I would begin to consider these aged) they respond to a slightly higher %RH than your average CC (say around 65-69%). I've found the Belicosos to be a nice representation of the brand.

Of course, this comes as a full-on, cracked-out PL whoooer!Gonz

If you're in the market for spending a little coin, the Asian REs from one year earlier - the Robustos de Larranaga - are still widely available, tend to have excellent construction, and are primed for smoking now! They still have at least another couple years of legs on them, but they. are. ready! A great cigar it will be hard to see disappear...

Smoked an excellent early 13 POU H Upmann Mag 50 - such an amazing cigar! The development always strikes me on these - it begins mild-flavored, and after a cm or so, begins to slowly build in flavor until you reach the full-flavored final third where it's a symphony of wood, twang, spice, touches of cream and stone fruit, and that Upmann musk that drives me nuts! The whole thing happens over a medium body, which is my preferred style.

If I had one complaint, it's that the wrappers tend towards being thin and fragile. From year to year, I've gotten used to some of these splitting and unraveling a little. They somehow almost always manage to smoke well despite this, and this is one of the few cigars where I will tolerate that type of nonsense.

Y'all can keep em - I'll take a Connie #1 over these any day. They're nice, but a little too chunky and def. overpriced.

Juan Lopez No. 2 Aug 2010- Started out with a blast of honey, then settled down to a burnt tobacco flavor. It has been around 3 years since I smoked one from this cab and I think there is a lot of substance in this cigar that just needs more time to come forward. My best guess is that age will sweeten the whole cigar, not just the first 1/4.

San Cristobal De La Habana - El Morro '06- Great as usual. Smooooothe!
