Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure #1... UEB Jul 18...very good

I don't smoke a whole lot of Cubans so my palate may be unskilled, but the last few Cuban cigars I've smoked all had a similar flavor profile...this was reminiscent of the H Upmann Mag 46 and the Juan Lopez #1.

However, the Montecristo Edmundo was very different from the three above...

Its supposed to be $220, which could be any Robusto or Corona Gorda outside of Cohiba. I'll probably get one if I can but not shed a big tear if I don't.

Site said $0 price when I looked. Only 300 available. Prolly not too hard to find 300 guys willing to shell out that coin for something that may or may not be to their liking.

It will go live during a flash sale some time this month. Info from the rep is that they are probably the only vendor with 300 of these in stock and that it would be a better deal than getting a box of PSD4s. Obviously that's in their opinion, but it does tell you it won't be a box of PSD4s or anything obviously inferior.

That was probably from my best 50 cabinet purchase for like $350 when it was already 5-7 years. They were amazing to me and I couldn't keep my hands off them. Loved the bluish smoke's fragrance. Was it still great as it was? Does it still have "legs"?

Also love those. I nursed a fantastic 50 cab for like 10 years but have not had one since about '17.

I’ve personally never found a “Cubanesque” NC that tasted like a Cuban but ymmv.

You might find something you like here:

Wasn’t planning on getting one but they sold out within 15 minutes based upon the e-mails with the offer, received at 5:06 a.m and then at 5:21 a.m. announcing that they were sold out, so never stood much of a chance even if I wanted one.

BGZ is here in Orlando to visit Disney. So Monday night I picked him up at his hotel and took him to what used to be the world's largest cigar store, Corona Cigar on Sand Lake Road. We had several drinks and smoked some great cigar.s

El Rey Delmundo Demmi-Tasse '07/BGZ and RF (Amazing) Last one over from a multi box-split w/Frank and Allen like 10 years ago)

Boli Coronas '08 BGZ

Punch Punch '02 RF (amazing) (last one from the box).

H. Upmann Mag 48 EL '09 BGZ (My all-around favorite Cuban. I bought four cabs, sold two and that was my very last one)

PL Panatellas '08 RF (did not loose one bit of it's flavor despite being a mild cigar aged for so long. Amazingly sweet!)

And, we also researched an old Cohiba E.L. '06 Pyramid (?) I have one of and they are selling for $3,200 for a 10-box. Hope it will be GREAT. Thanks, Melvin Tucker!

BGZ is a totally stand-up guy. I tried to explain to him up-front and that his wallet was no good in my town, but he snagged our bar tab before I could get to it. Bad BOTL move on his part. Can't wait until we get to herf again!

(Prologue: I had to pull over to the side of the road to puke on the way home and a cop came up behind me. I had zero to drink, but know I still can never pass a sobriety test so I sped off. I got lucky he didn't light-up on me.)

Le Hoyo du Prince OSC from July 1998

I have had this in one of the humidors for many years and can't remember where I got it. Seemed like a good day to enjoy it. Wonderful smoke with flowers and tea and many years of life remaining. A big thanks to whoever sent it.

If they get to the point of having you do the roadside Olympics, they've already determined that they are taking you to jail and are in now collecting evidence for your trial. If you think you're OUI, refuse the test and just clam up, don't give them anything more than they already have. I'm not a lawyer, just my experience from doing the wrong thing.

Re: Next Cuban will be smoked today after pigging out and a nap... Which exact one... TBD.

Prolly something that Buckwheat sent me. I've been keeping my hands off of a bunch that he sent years ago but have decided that they aren't trophies and they should be enjoyed by smoking them rather than looking at them.

No, but I remember you did send me a few maybe 20 year old Choix Supreme years ago. I was going through old PMs but it's not there any longer. This one came from a BOTL here who was selling off everything years ago. Just can't remember who that was. Not Julian.

Weren't those the BOMB? It was a 50 Cab '06 for $300!

You are probably right. My Cab could have been '98- I don't remember (but it was still divine!).

I know I sent you those two HdM that were like 20+ years old at the time (and predated intelligable box codes). Then, you sent me a box of Boli Gold Medal from '04 or '06. I also sent you a fiver, which may have included the HdM. We also did that Cab split of Tatuaje East or West.

That's what I remember from memory. Would have to look anything else up...

I had zero to drink and puked from motion sickness driving like 25 miles or more unmedicated. My neurological deficits would keep me from passing a road sobriety test. I can't walk a line, cant tilt my head back and keep my balance, and I have ocular nystagmus, which is what they look for when they track your eyes with their finger.

If I got pulled over and had been drinking I'd: 1) refuse the field tests, 2)refuse the field sobriety test and 3) ask for my lawyer immediately- within the first minute of being pulled over. And then not say a word. The thing that convicts the- non-blowers is the videos of them being made to stand cuffed in the processing room while waiting to be booked...
