I sent a mssg to the staff @ CBid regarding their advertising practices of posting pics and AD copy touting the Napalms on Free Fall to be of Pepin factory origin...this was back in early June IIRC. Was just glancing over what's on FF and Low and Behold.....they're STILL doing it. Nice!!!!! You'd think they would be able to correct this problem.............
If they only wanted to. Brick wall

Haven't bought any since Espinosa opened his own factory and began making them there. Not the same cigar / blend is what I've heard.

But to better answer your question Nate, yes they made some really good cigars. If you enjoy maduros the Blues were great, the Red label habanos were also very good and the Green line ( Oscuro ) was also very good and for many here their favorite.

Still have most of a box of blues with blue / white banding, supposedly these were still Pepin blended 601's but with different packaging. I do still enjoy them...and they've aged nicely IMHO

Yeah the newer La Bombas aren't nearly what the old ones were but they're ok.

Which why one must beware of what they purchases. Everytime I see one of these threads I think of the LPHBPM that are touted as being 93 rated. Not even close to the same cigar, but they still show up from time to time.

But them again there are tons of folks who buy smokes that have been talked about as nauseam regarding their now inferior taste and construction yet them seemed surprised they bought a turd.

PT Barnum lives!!!

Agreed Anthony, I have a REAL problem with this when they are clearly using a box from My Father AND ad speak to make the purchaser THINK that's what they're getting. Using One mans reputation to sell another's cigars.....d'oh!

The only thing consistent in life is change. The new blend is not even close to taste and strength as the original release......for the reasons stated in this thread, CBID has changed over the years as well.....not for the better I might add......

All advertising should be as honest as possible. In the long run a business lives or dies based on it's reputation. The larger the company get's the less they seem to remember this.

One might wonder if all the dishonesty may in a very small way be part the catalyst for the FDA's push to require cigar manufacturers to disclose blends. Who knows?
