Whatever happened to Hammer & Sickel? Used to see this one advertised all the time. I was interested but, for some reason, never bought one. I never see them advertised anymore. I intend to "Google" it and find out. But what about you? What brands do you remember, either through advertising or actually buying and smoking, that are no longer sold? Herfing

Found them!! They are still being sold. That brings me to another one I don't see much these days. It was called Nestor Reserve. I bought them as a newbie and liked them. They started having burn issues and I dropped them, but the flavor was fantastic as I remember. horse

Diablo Picante and Donkey Droppings were two excellent and budget friendly smokes that have gone with the wind.

I have some from 2012 and earlier, really like them. A June 2013 article mentioned he kept the same blend on the relaunch......

"The cigar will maintain the same blend as the original Cubao and is being made at the My Father factory in Esteli Nicaragua. Ortega also decided to pack the cigars in 10 count boxes exclusively. The cigar has been released in six vitolas which follow a classic numbering system: the No. 1 (6 ½ x 49), the No. 2 Torpedo (6 x 52), the No. 3 (6 ½ x 38), the No. 4 (4 ½ x 50), the No. 5 (6 x 50), and the No. 7 (6 x 42)."

Has it changed again?

It seems you are correct, I could have sworn I read otherwise somewhere and saw the cigar packaged in a reddish band. I like very much that he went to the Garcia's to re-launch it!!!

After seeing this, maybe they did change again and went with just a maduro wrapper or both maduro and Sumatra now. Either way, I haven't tried the maduro and may give that a shot in the future.
