You have to give CI credit sometimes. The review of Ron Mexico: "It's not going to win any awards - ever"

The hits just keep on coming ... some dope bid 7 bucks each on 10 72% Boveda packs. Four bucks each at the local B & M -- CI sells a cube (12-pack) for 44.99:

Best part is, this way he also gets to pay more for shipping.

You really can't make this sh*t up.

That's the 2nd time in a week and a half I've seen Bovedas for $7.00 each. Heck if you call the mothership they'll sell you singles at $4.00.

Indeed,
A box of my father no.1 went last night for $181 that's about $50 over what they've been selling on here for.

A box of nica rustica el brujitos went for $121 while another box ending an hour later sold for $88.

While these are not overbids per the purists definition on here it's still a gross inflation of the prices.

Yawn????

A couple bucks over retail, within the margin of error for shipping costs.

Paying at or slightly above retail on this site is not an "overbid" in the classic sense of the term. For someone wanting the cigars, it may make economic sense to pay at or even slightly above retail on this site. They may be saving shipping over buying elsewhere. It's not a good deal, but it's not economically insane. "Overbidding" has classically mean a bid that was economically insane.

So: yawn. Herfing

Wrong.
An overbid is paying more that DP Newell did.........or would.
End of story.

I'm drawn here like I'm staring at a horrible car or train wreck. I have nothing to offer, first aid, comfort, or advice. But I stare, I stare and get in the way of those who can help. I don't hear the horns or sirens, yes I'm doing 28mph in the fast lane, but I have to stare.

Theres no way paying more than retail makes more economic sense and isnt an overbid. If its more than retail, its an overbid, otherwise you'd just buy retail, even accounting for shipping because the most I see for basic shipping anywhere the stuff here sells is free - $6.

Having difficulty making sense of what this means -- truly.

Anyway: **IF** someone is going to buy a fiver elsewhere -- no matter what -- for $72, with $5 shipping, it makes sense for them to pay **UP TO** $77 here with free (or basically negligible, 50 cents) shipping, particularly when they're ordering other items.

There is also the value of time and convenience to be experienced. Placing a whole separate order on a whole separate site and having to track a whole separate shipment is a pain in the ass. Bundling alone may well be worth $1 or $2, maybe even $3, to busy people and/or volume buyers. It makes economic sense to do so.

The spirit of this thread always seemed to be the idiots who would pay $45 for a fiver that sells for $32 elsewhere -- and it does happen, as evidenced in the thread itself.

Someone who pays up to a couple of bucks over retail -- who cares. It's a buck or two and there's decent reasons for some people to do so. Hence: "Yawn."

I have not won a bid in about 6 months. No biggie as it enables me to smoke down some inventory.
