Since you all have been so helpful already.... I'm looking to up my storage to around a 75-100 count humidor, and am wondering if there are specific brands that I should be looking for, or if it really comes down to maintenance and care? Also, just to throw it in...for you Pad fans, what's your choice for the 1964? Smoking the superior maduro right now and it seems to be lacking the robustness from the first time I tried one.(can't remember which). Maybe I'll just go back to Acids Sarcasm As always, thanks!

Tupperware or Igloo make good humidors. If you want something pretty I'm a fan of Daniel Marsall humidors. They will set you back a lot of money.

Ashton makes one of the better "cheapies" imho.
Lots of different sizes, etc.

If you get lucky you might find a used G Watts - awesome desktops.

The Marshalls are nice - but very pricey.

Cheaper ones can "fail" there eventually as far as seal integrity, and they don't control temperature as well.
Sun shouldn't be an issue because you should never have your humi in the sun anyways.

The cheap humidors are junk.

If you're handy, you can make em work.

Pmd you a link to a thread I posted elsewhere showing why they're cheap and how you can make em work.

Another cheap desktop ive really had good results with is Don Salvatore. Can find used ones pretty cheap, and new are under $200.

Buy it from CI, CBid or a competitor in the business, their junk looks good compared to the crap sold elsewhere. Go with beads, but decide what %, before ordering.

1964s I love the maduros and my favorite is the corona. Also enjoy the principe a lot to. If you like the 64s you should get your hands on a few of the Familty Reserve line.

I appreciate the advice. Hopefully I can splurge at some point and do some tasting.

This one doesn't look bad for the money.

Just a note. They must use box pressed PC's to determine the capacity on humidors. Your Mileage Will Vary. fog

Last year for Christmas my wife got me a display humidor off that place named for the jungle in South America. What showed up was a cheap knockoff with plexiglass instead of glass. Moral of the story is buyer beware. Watch out for what you buy and where you buy it. Got one off fleabay because cbid didn't carry what I wanted. I asked questions from the seller and was reassured that the front of this was indeed glass.

Search charleston humidor, that's what I ended up with. Upright humidor w 7 drawers, the thing holds humidity very well and it looks awesome. Only thing it's missing is a knob on the door to match the knobs on the drawers. Capacity is shown at 150 and it will hold about 20 churchills per drawer. So with smaller sticks it will hold more.

Thanks! The lady hinted that she got me one for my birthday coming up... but she is pretty poor at doing her research so I'm thinking I might have to get another pretty quickly.
