Anyone else seen this?? I'm pretty excited for it. I absolutely love the Project, enjoy the Odyssey, and now this Habano sounds pretty awesome.

"The famous Honduran cigar maker's most potent creation to date.

After two years of meticulous blending, the Ramon Bueso saga continues with the release of Genesis Habano. Stepping into the spotlight after the release of Genesis The Project, this legendary Honduran cigar maker unveils his most potent creation to date. Blended by tobacco expert, Ramon Bueso, Genesis Habano is a complete 180 from his last release, unleashing a powerful ligero blend finished with a hearty Habano wrapper.

Teeming with rich notes of spice, oak, and black pepper, Ramon Bueso Genesis Habano is blended with copious amounts of powerful, high-priming Nicaraguan and Honduran long leaves and covered with a meaty, Ecuador Habano wrapper. This hard-hitting, full-bodied cigar is sure to be another smash-hit in the likes for Genesis The Project. Save a spot for this one in your regular rotation. You won't be sorry."

Anyone planning on paying retail for a box or are you waiting for it to hit CBID?

Since the Project smokes better with a few months rest, I'd probably do the same for the Habano...so I don't see the need to rush out to get them.

+1......the Project is even better once they have a year plus on them

once the rush dies down, I'll grab a box of the Habanos for $40ish, and bury them for a while

the Odyssey doesn't do much for me..............I have some that have been sitting a while......maybe I'll revisit this morning

I'd like to add a box to my humidor once here for about $40. The others needed a good bit of time before they got good. I liked the Odysseys, love aged Genesis.

Description on these though might not be what I prefer, but hopefully they mellow out with time.

I hope it isn't too peppery and strong. I was hoping next in line would be a sumatra or cameroon but since the Odyssey was so mild it seems he wanted to shift back. I also think it's interesting that rather than create a new name, Bueso is playing off the Genesis name. Makes sense given the success of the Project.

Bottom line up front: Delicious

Nice wrapper, dark reddish brown
Pepper and spice bomb
Very slow burn; burns great for ROTT and Ligero
pepper backs way off after first inch.
Baking spice, nutmeg, slight sweetness, coffee
Very savory compared to the Project
Reminiscent of diff between No9 and T52
I may like these better than the Project
Will age well.

The end.

You must have the palate of a horse fly eating maggoty filled crap.

Mazos of 10 for 29.99, and that is "way cheaper"?? Not sure what you paid but I picked up two boxes and one was only $46. Sounds like you could use some dpnewell education...RIP

The Wombat raok me a 5er of these to try and I plan on smoking 1 this weekend. Nice looking cigar, wrapper is a deeper color then I expected and looks real oily.

Smoking my first one as I type this, while I don't have the skills to pick up nutmeg, cocoa, Carmel, and whatever else those reviews say, I will say it is a well constructed, even burning, spicy but smooth stick. I liked the project, and this one has a bit more "strength". As Kwaj would say" lots of smoke, good draw!

Sampler...cant be beat...toros....the Gensis project
I think....
The best new cigar in 3 years ( and maybe 5 yrs)
They are awesome , meticulously wrapped, burn solid and straight...and taste friggin amazing...
I give them a solid 8.75....never had a bad one in 4 samplers? Yet....

It's not too late. You'll have 5 to smoke and an unopened box to age.

I never got a fiver so I'll just have to wait to burn one of these. So I'm not a hoarder. Haha

$37 is an awesome price. I've gotten my all boxes at $43 which is still a good deal imo.

I had zero patience and wanted to try ASAP so I got one of the first boxes for $52 I believe. Second box was $46.

I can't believe these can go for sub $40 prices. So many cigars are triple the price but don't come close to quality or flavor as Bueso. I wonder how he got stuck in an exclusive contract.

Spent my free coupon on the RB sampler pack which was on sale last week. So far had the Odyssey and the Habano.

I thought the Odyssey was a very good Connecticut Stick. I don't care for those usually but this one was enjoyable. Coffee with a LOT of cream in it. Pleasant aftertaste. Given my normal preferences, probably would not buy again primarily for me but could see having some in the humi for handouts and perhaps grabbing one for the occasional and rare morning smoke.

I thought the Habano was very good. A bit of salt, some pepper under that. "Meaty and chewy" were my notes - yup, I take notes...

Became more toasty about halfway in and strength picked up in last 1/3. Defiantly would buy this one again.

Next up Genesis The Project

Still haven't smoked one of mine been sitting on them since whenever they came out... maybe I need to give one a shot. This thread seems positive but I saw mixed reviews somewhere

The Odyssey didn't do much for me and I've given up on buying the habano (along with everything else unitil fall). Got some projects sitting, but not too excited about firing one up.

Finally fired up the "Projects" and very disappointing and harsh. Tried to let it sit, not get it too hot, etc but both were harsh and ashy no matter what I did. Really, tasted like an ashtray. :(

So, for me, the Habano is a re-buy - when/if can get them at a reasonable price!

Odyssey - Connecticut lovers should really like this one. I will probably not get get unless part of a sampler or package deal just because its not my cup'o'tea, but wouldn't be bad to have in the box for the rare morning smoke or for guests

The Project - yuck! Perhaps these get better with age - noticed someone saying let them sit for a year (!) but that is not something I am going to do when getting a sampler pack or for smokes of this level.

i have a couple boxes of the projects that have been sitting for a little over a year and they are much much better. The odyssey i tried a 5er and liked at the time so i bought a box and let that sit as well for the same time but to me they are not as good after sitting for that long.

midmofan send me your addy and ill shoot you over a 5er thats been sitting.

been very curious about the habano myself so i guess it's time to find some.

Good to hear that about the Habano......still letting my box of Robs sit for a while before I try one.
Odyssey does nothing for me........but that's how it is for most Connies.
The Genesis? Your experience is much different than mine. I'm very glad I purchased these heavily a few years back. They (Robs and Toros, and one box or Muy Buesos) are smoking fantastically, and are EASILY the best $2 cigars I've ever scored.
But, maybe things have changed?
The last ones I purchased was in Sept, 2014.......but I won't get to smoking those until next year sometime. I'll try to remember to report on those.

Habano didn't do much for me. It wasn't bad I just don't think I'd buy again unless they seriously improve with age. TBD. I like the others ROTT. Have smoked a gifted aged one of each adn they were def good. Looking forward to revisiting my boxes with some age on em.

Had a Habano today. Grassy flavor was gone.

Pretty close to the ad copy description. Very ligero forward with the pepper and heat.

That's my least favorite cigar flavor profile.

I do not like these.
