Shaun,
Box arrived safe and sound.
I've only had one Las Calaveras and I loved it.
The 1994 by LFD will be my first. You know LFD is my favorite.
Great cigars, and over the top friendly. Lito and his staff are good people.

Interesting unbranded selection.

The little figuardo caught my eye.

Thanks, Bud.

I smoked the little figuardo, (petite perfecto, maybe ?), this afternoon.
I am not much for recognizing the subtle nuisances of cigars, so with that in mind, here goes.

Pre-light draw was very easy.
During the very beginning, I noticed a slight peppery feeling in the back of my throat, but that quickly dissipated and the cigar became smooth and mellow to the end.
Mild and creamy, with an effortless draw, and VOLUMES of smoke throughout.
I really enjoyed this little booger, and given it's size and shape, and flawless construction and burn, I doubt if this was the "dog rocket" entry.
I enjoyed it very much, and as soon as I find out what it was, I will buy some.

Thanks, Shaun.

Your welcome :D

The Matildas are some awesome smokes IMO, every time I go to my local shpo I pick a few of them up. If they sold them on CBID, I would be all over them. They got them in lanceros too, but I prefer the size I sent you. I haven't got around to finding good prices on boxes yet.

It was labeled #3.
I have no clue as to it's ID.

I did come across a "petite perfecto" while surfing the cigar sites and I thought I would use THAT as a guess so y'all would think I knew something about cigars, but for the life of me, I can't remember what brand it was. d'oh!

Ah this is one of my favorite brands that is not yet popular enough to have fanboys. The smoke was Roma Craft Intemperance BA envy with right around a year on it. It is in the $5-$9 range smoke and great review glad you enjoyed it.

2nd review

Unknown labeled #2

Cigar #2 was Churchill sized with a light/med brown wrapper.
Some small veins, and a slight barnyard aroma. Looked to be well constructed.

Pre-light draw was easy, but not much taste.
Some "harshness", (not pepper or spice), in my throat for about the first 10 minutes that dwindled but never totally disappeared.
Not much flavor throughout the entire smoke.
My wife, who enjoys the second hand aroma of my cigars, said it didn't have the "nuances" that she usually picks up.
She said it just smelled like "burnt ash", which would probably be a pretty good description of what I tasted.
On a more positive note . . . The draw and burn were decent. No issues or relights while smoking, but I DID have to re-light it after putting it down for about five minutes to answer a phone call.

All in all, I wouldn't quite call it a "dog rocket", per se, ( I WAS able to finish it ), but I would be totally surprised,
(and a tad embarrassed), if it turned out to be the "top shelf" premium out of the three submissions.

Okay, Shaun . . . how far off am I ?
