Yes it's a project but for 2k it's a steal. Arizona car from new.
New engine and trans. 72 chevy chevelle. Nothing has been cut on the car. Hard to find for sure.
BTW I don't have a picture of the tie-rod guards.

I got it fired up broke in the cam. Had a trans leak so I pulled the trans out replaced the front seal. While I had it out I installed a shift kit and a stall converter. Then I filed the case smooth and polished it.
Installed it yesterday and drove it around town with no mufflers. Lmao

Hope your is better than mine was. My first car was a '73 Olds Omega. Looked like a '67 Nova, but the back was a large hatchback. 350 V8, 4 bbl Rochester, coil-over shocks in back, big meat all four corners. Didn't even have 80K miles on it. In one year, doing most of the work myself, I put over $2000 just in parts into it (paid $2300 for the car). My first--and last--GM.

Engine out. Found a problem with the bore of the new gm crate block. Now off to the machine shop and size them up for some new forged slugs. All the suspension is pulled out and cleaned. Ready for me to press the new bushings and ball joints in. Frame is smooth now and has a coat of primer. Got to get a paint gun and spray it black along with the suspension.
That's all for now.

Well I'm not sure what direction to go on the engine. Guess it is time to save and see what comes along.

Just crush up some mothballs and put them in the gas. It'll give you like a thousand extra horsepower.

I am putting a real nice 383 with 11.5 to one compression but just came across a really good deal.

421 small block chevy with extremely nice internals, a full race powerglide trans with a trans brake and a narrowed Dana 60 with disk brakes and a spool. :-)

I hope to get some of it picked up tomorrow.

Very nice, and sounds like a nice setup. Just hate the word nitro with a good classic muscle car.

Have you painted flames and skulls on it yet Mike?

Firemanmike I'm not burning nitro. It will get a healthy snort of NITROUS. Big difference.

I began cleaning all the parts for the big engine. I still need to get the block maged for cracks. Looks like with the dart heads 64 cc chamber heads and the dome on the pistons it will be about 13 to 14-1 compression.

It's definitely going to need $9 a gallon gas.

I sent Coop a picture of one of the rods that was bent :-(

Drafter I hope it does 150 in the 1/4 mile then it has to have a parachute. Lol!

I think if it had a tie rod guard the rod wouldn't have bent.
