I just wanted to throw a shout out to all the FOGS and NOOBS that make this forum what it is.

I just did a trade with THOM not only did he send me the agreed upon cigars he also threw in some humidification stuff for me to try out, Of course he threw in some extra cigars and he sent some homemade pumpkin bread that was devoured within ten minutes of me receiving the package.

I have always sent care packages to our troops over sees but never thought to include cigars. I have seen a lot of post on here from people sending them over and I have to admit it inspired me. The last two care packages I sent over included a dozen cigars.

Also I constantly see people helping each other out on this forum (cigar related or not). There is a plethora of RAOK's. People constantly gifting their turn to receive cigars to other members and just a general sense of kindness.
I was recently picked up for a NooB trade by stinger88 his message to me "Going to have a little fun with this"
One can only imagine.

My profession leads to me dealing with a lot of unsavory characters and it is sometimes easy to start thinking there are no good people left in the world. Thanks to all of you for reminding how wrong that thought is.

So in summary, Kindness and generosity that is so sincere and plentiful it inspires even the newest (and I hope the the oldest) member of the forum.
Thank you to all for creating and encouraging such an atmosphere.

Nicely said. There a bunch of kind hearted, generous BOTL/SOTL on here. If you ever get the chance to meet up with any of them....well most of them....you should do it. Lots of fun and storytelling.

Agreed bsadler. I've had good dealings so far with the great folks here, and the occasional misfit.

I love the generousity all the way around. You bomb someone today and sometimes it seems like they never forget and you get it in return when you least expect it. I haven't been around long but i already see it. I love it here.

Plus it's a great way to try stuff you never heard of/never got around to buying.

Some lyrics off the top of my head:

Fighting soldiers from the sky
Fearless men who jump and die
Men who mean just what they say
The brave men of the Green Beret

'Course you gotta sing this in the lowest key you can muster. Sorry if the lyrics are wrong and coulda Googled them but more fun to try to recall from memory.

No Way!!!
That song is part of the soundtrack of my life...I'm 62 and feeling like that was out the summer of '65 maybe. Certainly within a year of Eve of Destruction.

Is your uncle still with us?

Buddha day - my wife is the hooker of the family (only when working under cover)

Harley - it is an honor to serve and thank you for the support.

Frank - sadly no. He died I think it was 1990. My father (also army sf) sang the ballad at his funeral it is one of my oldest and fondest memories.

bsadler you are right, I am new to CB so I have been lurking around to get the lay of the land and I was overwhelmed with the generosity of this group. Wether it be one member sending a Tablet to another so he can continue to come on this site, or the spontaneous bombs that are sent, it all really does put a smile on my face.

Just seeing this thread bsadler. Thanks for the props. It was all-and-all a good trade.

My first trade here, was a NOOB trade with some FOG and I was hammered pretty good. I sent him some, what I know now to be, pretty cheap and new to cigars type cigars (you know what I mean), and he dropped a truck load of smokes on me with lots of extras. That's when the light went on in my pea sized brain *so this is how the game is played*. Welcome to the jungle.

I have met many people on this forum from all over the world, and in have smoked with them in different parts of the world, and they were all the nicest people, and I mean that.

Good trading with you,

Thom

More of the same. Two more unexpected gifts came in the mail. This truly is a brother/sister hood. Every time I think I am going over the top generous. I get crushed and humbled. Below are my two most recent ones.

Jespear is too much,
Jespear offered to send me a few trays he had around the house. I offered to trade some cigars for the trays but he said "no, he was set"
Well the trays arrived today with a very nice fiver as travel companions. You way over did, but thanks Jespear!!!

I also won a fiver on a football game with break out. He sent the fiver +2 and sent me a bottle of amazing whisky because he knew the one sent for Secret Santa was broken in during shipping.

People are here are just too much.

All I can say is how much I agree. I am still brand spanking new here, but the things I see on here on a daily basis is just amazing. It just increases my desire to become more involved in this community, and get to know people better. People that start out as total strangers across the country do there best to outdo each other in gifts and trades for no reason other than to make the other person happy in a hobby that is around solely for relaxation and enjoyment. And seeing how contagious that generosity is with everyone here...just amazing.

i completely agree with you guys... I just did my first trade with SMOKEYOU... he, knowing i was new, offered to make a 5er trade... told me to just send him what I could, and he send me back 6 instead of 5 and all of which were much better than what i sent him... I can't wait to get more involved and get to know more of you all better

Also a big big big big shoutout to Napalm who took it upon himself to dig out the telescope he picked up for his son when he was younger, to send it to me for my daughter after she expressed an interest in space and science.

It means a ton for me for someone to look out for me and my family, and its a debt that cant be repaid.

Side note: We need to drive a bus to his front door.

I hope it puts a smile on your daughters face and glad it will get some use Jay.

No need for any bus drivers.
