The Americans

Just might be my favorite series ever. Too early to tell for sure, since the series finale was only last night....and time will affect my impressions, but I am positive it will be way, way up there.

Not sure if earlier seasons are on Netflix, but certain that we saw first couple/few seasons on Prime.

Easily a top 10.

Found ... Catastrophe.

An American man goes to London on business, has a six night stand with an Irish woman resulting in a pregnancy.

Dry, dark, cutting. Three episodes in, it's looking good.

Got a free month of Amazon Prime. What new show or series do I watch?

Justified..... again.

Addictive.

Bosch
Goliath
The Americans
The Night Manager
The Man in the High Castle
Red Oaks
Jack Ryan
The Wire

That should keep you busy for a while

Ken Burns “Vietnam” Warts and all and no sugar coating. Could’ve used a little less Bob Dylan as I’ve always found his caterwauling to be quite irritating.

HBO... Barry.

Stephen Root makes the show. John Hader seems miscast. Keep waiting for him to stare into the lens, and contort his face and smell his hands. 5 episodes in. 30 minute episodes makes it easier be patient.

If you want a little history to spice up your soft porn, Versailles is far from 'must watch', but not too bad

Just watched an old Twilight episode. Printer's Devil. Burgess Meridith is the devil and he smokes a culebra cigar during the whole entire show. No one even notices. Cool and Creepy at the same time!

On the fence with Living With Yourself, four episodes in.

Stepbrothers. A few good chuckles. Generally not much for Will Ferrell. Basically the same schtict every time.

Patriot Act - Hasan Minihaj.

First episode is on fast fashion. Sharp skilled young comedian. Smile producing.

Ok, second episode, he's gone full on Lefty. I withdraw the above posit

What I have enjoyed:

The Irishman (despite people saying it was inaccurate)
Altered Carbon (anxiously waiting for it to return)
Hemlock Grove (finished but a good watch)
Stranger Things (enough said?)
Castlevania (anime, but a good watch even if you're not into that)

What I didn't enjoy so much:

Borgia (I liked the series with Jeremy Irons better)

Planning to watch:

Love, Death, Robots (it looks like mindfrak which I love)
V Wars

Me too!

Recently watched Better Than Us and Dark. Good sci-fi type Russian remakes. Not for sure on this but I think they may have digitally altered the mouths of the actors and then dubbed over with English. I notice it being a little off every so often.

6 Underground.

Ryan Reynolds franchise that would be awesome if he met up with John Wick.

So damned good.

Imagine "Baby Driver" crashes into "John Wick".

I was thinking about watching that but wasn't sure it was a netflix exclusive so I didn't mention it. On a semi-related note, I would love to see Deadpool and John Wick team up.

Most say yes....I say no. Rather mindless with weak dialog and weaker acting....stories and action ok.

Another good miniseries: Rebellion. 2 thumbs up

At any rate...speaking of old.....CRS, but not bad enough

Got excited the other day when Netflix notified me that Better Call Saul was dropping a new season.....then went and watched and realized that we'd already watched it on the network a few months back....didn't recall having watched it, but remember it enough to not be fresh and exciting

Still gives Breaking Bad a run for its money, IMO

Anyone watching Locke & Key on Netflix? Horror/fantasy series about a family that moves into their father's secluded ancestral home after he is murdered. To me, it has that "Stranger Things" feel.

Wife is watching is so I'm listening to it. Sounds like Harry Potter and Narnia met Twilight.

I watched Tom Papa stand up specials and LOL'd! He's the guy from NPR..."Have you ever spilled a cup of coffee in your lap and realized you don't have a change of clothes? I have."...never put it together. Wife did though.

Been going through the Vatican's top 50 of 100 years of cinematography. So far most of them have been pretty interesting.

Timerange seems to span from 1905 to 1995.

Top of the list:

1966 - Andrei Rublev - Pretty awesome movie about these Russian Orthodox monks. One of the monks gets tied up to a post and is forced to view this naked woman. Some Mongolians come and kill a bunch of people. Good stuff.

1966 - A Man for all Seasons - Great movie about the death of Thomas Moore

1939 - Stagcoach - John Wayne Western, classic!

1968 - 2001: A Space Oddessy - Everyone should know this movie about the dangers of AI.

1993 - Schindler's List - Great Movie

1922 - Nosferatu - Awesome Creepy Silent Horror flick

Anyone watch Hap and Leonard? Watched one episode....on the edge about diving any further in.

Fortunately, Narcos Mexico S2 dropped and I don't have to decide about Hap for at least a week

Earlier today it was on the 24/7 Star Wars channel, or at least one of them. Now, wife is watching the 24/7 channel of those old "Desperate Housewife" shows.
