The Churchill needs to be smoked slooooow.
And, not hit too hard.
With a nice long nap, it's a very good cigar.
But then, I'm a bit of an MB3 fanboy I suppose...........I ilke them all.

Heh heh.....
True though.....under $3/ea delivered is as good as it gets.
I was beginning to wonder, given the price hike several months ago, if we'd ever see this deal again.
Good thing.

Its not so much the smoke itself as the time it takes to smoke it that I generally steer clear of the churchills. Also love the MB3 and for $3 its almost impossible to beat the value. Do you find them as pepper bombs with some age? That is what I got from the few aged ones I have smoked and love them paired with a stout.

Hmmmm..........pepper bombs? Not a "bomb" imho.
One thing to note however is I never smoke them with less than 6 months on them, and typically they have a year or so.
For me, there is a bit of pepper in the first 1/2 inch to maybe an inch or so.
Primary flavors are earthy, somewhat bitter chocolate, black coffee, with some sweeter creamy notes popping in, like maybe a caramel or bakers spices. Very smooth, rich smoke.

Thanks Corey. I'm on board with some robusto and the sampler. I'd be a fool not to.

Just finished up a Churchill.
11 months rest. Packed cannon, tight seems, somewhat toothy wrapper.
V-cut, slightly tight of perfect draw.
First inch did have some pepper oomph on retrohale, and then it subsides substantially.
Earthy rich flavors along with bitter chocolate and coffee notes.
The caramel/bakers spice sweetness didn't show itself in this one until the start of the second half, and even then, it wasn't as pronounced as others I've smoked.
Perfect burn, draw loosened up to perfect, tons of smoke.
Paired with water.
Burn time 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Nice cigar.

Thought about it, but since I'm at capacity and never have smoked one I let it pass. 2:15 is quite a smoke time.

Eh......................I understand that sentiment.
Spent the first 40 years of smoking cigars holding a scotch or beer, and occasionally a coffee.
But, quit hard liquor and wine almost a year ago, and all remaining alcohol (beer) almost 2 months ago.
I didn't have an issue with booze (really didn't) just sort of happened.
So now it's coffee or water, and on rare occasions, a nice root beer............and I like all three.

One side note. About when I turned 50, I started waking up at night to go pee............really fuggin annoying.
I thought maybe it was the booze.......so I quit drinking for a week.......didn't matter......still woke up to pee.......so I figured fuq it.......and resumed my beer and scotch and wine drinking (10 - 12 drinks/week).

Well, when I stopped recently, a fantastic thing happened.
At about 3 weeks of no booze, I slept thru the night. I remember it.........wonderful........thought it was just a fluke.
Next night.......slept thru again! amazing!
Been sleepin thru the night ever since!
If I'd have figured this out 10 years ago, I would have quit drinking back then!

I like me some booze but I'll have coffee with most my cigars. Whenever I drank no matter what age, I drank more than I was supposed to resulting in multiple pissings. Good for you King.
