Greetings all,

I've been on the hunt for these El Padrino cigars. I have only been able to find them on (oops im not allowed to mention where) for like $39.99 for 20 and I'm not trying to pay that right now. I've seen some decent reviews for these but mostly bad ones so I don't want to invest in 20 of these things and I really don't have room for 20 of them anyway. (Oops I'm not allowed to mention ) wouldn't do a 5 pack either so I've basically been S.O.L. I saw where a few years back people were giving them away on here which is awesome. I'd be glad to buy a couple or even work a trade if any of you had any or knew were to get a few. Apparently, they used to be plentiful on here but not so much anymore. I've been checking almost daily for about a month now so apparently they've lost their popularity or something. Its kind of a sentimental type of thing if I could find a "Lucky Lou" but I'm also interested in a Bugsy or Franky the Bull. Do any of you know where I could score a couple of these.

Thanks!

I'm not going to be of any help on the cigar part, but you may want to edit out the competitor reference.

Just another symptom of people today.... charge right in without reading the suggestions on how the site works.

I don't have any of the mentioned cigars but I would be willing to send a handful of chocolate Principes that my wife has that I'm trying to get out of the house. BARF!

Sorry about that fellas. I fixed my post. Also sorry I didn't hit the trades thread which would have been more appropriate. All good though. I'll do better, I promise. All I hit is home runs though.....lol come on?!?!?!?

They're schit cigars with painted wrappers. Don't waste your time they aren't worth the effort....

stick around....but find better cigars, .....you know you're seeking dogs....and you don't want to pay $2 per? I doubt you're going to find a smokeable $2 cigar....you might, but even if you do.....the journey won't be worth getting to the destination. I spent many years looking for that holy grail - a 'good' $2 cigar. I admit that I found a couple....a few even (El Padrinos did NOT make that list....I promise.)

Here's the kick in the nuts....I subjected myself to a LOT of chitty cigars to find those couple that I liked....and without fail, production ceased on every one....sometimes soon after I found one...sometimes a couple years later....but believe me it is not worth it....smoke better cigars...please. You make think you can't afford to. BS. If you smoke one $6 cigar instead of three $2 cigars, you will be soooo much happier

Maybe an old uncle used to smoke these or something?

Great first post nonetheless....

I have a weird memory, sometimes numbers sometimes video sometimes written word....I'll remember forever.

I had 5 of these when they came out. The taste was cardboard, and the wrapper turned green at the burn line (it was actually a candela color wrapper paintend maduro)

i appreciate all the feedback. it does seem like they went out of production or something because I can't find them. thanks for pointing out the sentimental part. im not going to explain it any further though because I'm afraid you guys will make fun of me and i don't want to have to kill myself tonight. lol seriously though, i know they aren't known for being very good cigars, i just wanted to try a couple. honestly, i'd probably settle for a wrapper.

well this was fun.... for poop and giggles my cheap and never proper RH humidor is currently holding:

sancho panza triple anejo
sosa
la estrella cubana
fonseca
ramon bueso the genesis
cao italia
black knight
herra estelli
undercrown
petrus etiquette rouge

i'm obviously a fan of the cheap ones... i mean i can tell the difference between the petrus and the undercrowns but i guess i like my cigars like i like my women.... lol im also trying to find some felipe dominicana's for less than $20 for 20 so i guess i won't ask where to find those.....

thanks again!

Yep..........he could slide on clay like Fred Astaire.

He'd blend tobacco at night..........suffered from insomnia.

Once again...he's right. I had one years ago..smoked about half of it. Left it outside and it got rained on. The next day I found a green turd in a pool of brown soup. On another note...do you like camping? Z would love to take you camping

oh yea definitely. i just meant I'm not really interested in El Padrinos anymore. The bad reviews i read before getting on here and all the bad reviews these folks provided have convinced me to take their advice and give it up which actually brings me back to and justifies my original unwillingness to spend $40 on 20 of these things. its been a good experience so far. obviously there are a lot of people on here with a hell of a lot more cigar knowledge than I have. thats why I came.

Good for you!
Now here's your ONE freebie.
LHC Oscuro Fuerte Toro, Beli or Rob.
In winter, sometimes, you can get a box of these for under $40 here, while fivers go for $11, even $9 now and again.
Let them rest a bit........6 months or so....very serviceable sub $2 cigar..........possibly one of the last imo.

Thanks. I've had a couple of different 5 Vegas cigars. Definitely not bad. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the more expensive brands as well there's just something about the hunt of a good, cheaper cigar. Right now I've been stuck on Sosa and Fonseca and the Petrus Etiquette Rouge (I know, I know ). Plus it keeps my wife happy when I'm only spending $10-$15 for a 5 pack vs. $30-$40. This site has been extremely helpful in that regard. I appreciate all of the input though. So far I've been learning via catalogs and reviews. It's cool to get some different perspective.

This. But get a wine cooler instead. Then a cooler for the overrun. Or just put your foot down and then do step 2 anyway
