Are these any good?

Was tempted until I researched and learned that all cbl is stalk cut so it isn't like this is a unique process to this cigar but it is a catchy name.

Don't know yet. Just got a fiver in the mail today.
Will try them later, after a little humi time.

Just wanted to give a heads-up to those who like them.

I have found the stalk cut to be I pretty darn good cigar. I wouldn't say it is a top pick, however I recommend it. I have a couple in my humidor now.

I've had 2 Toro maduros.............thought they were OK.........yard gar category.
But have had the 3 others from the fiver resting for a while now..............may revisit today.

I always associated Henry Clay with yard gar. Guess that has changed?

Nope........hasn't changed in my opinion.......a decent yard gar though (but too many better cigars at $3.00/ea)
Had one today (Henry Clay Toro with 15 months rest).............while working around the yard........perfect for that.....threw it on the grass a few times, forgot where I put it once and it stayed lit.......I did let it go out once, relit, purged, whatever...............yard gar behavior.
It's not the "stalk cut" as fas as I know......just a big old cigar with a rough wrapper and a rough out-of-round roll job. Heavy tobacco flavor and some leather is all I get. I paid $15 for the fiver.........I over paid.

Pete Johnson got involved.

CI's description . . .

Clay fan Pete Johnson, of Tatuaje cigars, helped breathe fresh life into the brand with his collaboration, Henry Clay Tattoo. Following closely on the heels of this exciting new addition comes Henry Clay Stalk Cut, exhibiting the bolder side of the old brand.

Was curious about these, but Tat's regular Tattoo leaves me wondering if they're even worth the effort.

I like the Tattoo better than Illusione's R.

Think
Had my first Tatoo (Caballero) last week......only rested for 6 weeks..........it was OK.
Glad I only paid $3 for it.
Maybe it will be better in 6 months?

I dunno man, but before my local started carrying Tat PCRs I would buy the R's or Tattoo. They guys who own it actually LOVE cigars so I try to support a great business when I can.

The original Tattoo back about 2010 were great. The new ones not so much.

The Henry Clay Tattos are pretty good: classic Nicaraguan profile (wood, leather, strong tobacco, pepper) with a slight twist that I liked.
