Just got my paper catalog the mail from that cigardotty place and noticed all references to flavor have been removed from the Acid lineup. There is "purple" and "gold" and (and "kuba-kuba" still since that means nothing I assume)l but not a single thing about what any of these things really tastes like or infused with.

Likewise just got an email that its your last chance to do the "blend your own" thing. Not that that was something I was planning to do ever, but its sad that its going away.

Lastly this one PAGE I visit noted that it was time to stock up on blends (that they were conveniently having on-sale) that came out after 2007 as they will be going away. That is a bit premature as the manufacturer COULD submit it for testing (at huge $$$$ to the maker) and that would keep it around for at least another 2 years, but still you see where this is going.

So, two things: Keep calling and writing congress. There IS a chance that this gets stopped but they need to hear from people

Second, I guess if you are a fan of the infused and flavored sticks, it would make sense to post reviews that specifically say what the things taste like so that others can see it. I could be wrong, but I don't see where that violates any of the rules.

This has been in the works since 2012. Johnny-Come-Latelys aren't doing much good.

Just remember the reason certain cigars are out there...Gurkha...infused...etc..etc.. is because there is a market share for them...

Losing any cigar blend can mean losing cigar lovers...

Which then only helps weaken our overall position...

I'm really morbidly curious how this bullchit is going to look once it starts.
Nothing good ever comes from the Feds digging their hooks in.
People on FB keep posting their pics and selfies of the cigars they're smoking. Probably less than 1% know or have tried doing a dam thing.
I hope for all of us including the ignorant and apathetic this doesn't turn into the doomsday it looks like right now.

Cigarette companies supported this because vaping takes away business. Cigars and pipes are collateral damage.

Not only that, you won't see General or Altadis putting up big $$$ to fight it. They've got a large stock of frontmarks that pre-date 2007, plus the deep pockets to pay any necessary fees. It's the newer companies - and the smaller boutique outfits - that'll get clobbered.

Comments here and from the other thread are giving me a headache..........it gets more confusing the more I think about it........and I fuggin hate that!

For instance......riddle me this (hypothetical scenario):
So let's say Fuente has a cigar, the "Fuente 1", which went into production in 1995.
The "Fuente 1" is exempt from regulation, despite the fact that presently (2016) EVERY single aspect of that cigar (wrapper, binder, filler, seed, production location, grow location etc.) most likely is COMPLETELY different than it was in 1995.
The "Fuente 1" is getting its exemption because of the NAME, and introduction date.

So.....................
What about the "Fuente 2"? It was also introduced in 1995, but discontinued in 1999, only to be re-introduced in 2004, but they sold out, have have not been available since 2006.
Can Fuente put the "Fuente 2" back into production now, and be exempt from regulations?
If yes, man, talk about loopholes and "back-door" dealings between the big boys and the more popular boutiques.......gonna be crazy.

I tried doing a search for a list of pre and post Feb, 2007 cigars.......no luck.
If anyone can figure that out, please post.
I do know one thing, the number of cigars many of us smoke, introduced post 2007, is staggering, well over 1000, and maybe approaching 2000.

had a kuba kuba monday night and am still not sure what it tasted like. i nubbed it, the sweetness kept me going but it tasted mostly like incense but not necessarily in a bad way. for the price i wouldn't buy another one. i'm not sure what it was supposed to taste like. i couldn't really put my finger on it. almost clove-like but not quite. just kind of weird. i would try other "acids" just not the kuba kuba....

but yea, its not really cool that they would just get discontinued or taken off of the market for any reason.
