I am starting to do some serious hording in anticipation of the FDA mess. I have a big chest cooler, but wondering what is the best way to humidify such a thing. I have been using the humi packs in my humidors for so long, not sute what is best. What do you guys do?

New cooler?

What size?

Check the seal before you buy. My Coleman makes a swoosh sound when I close the lid. Others have suggested using a dollar to test the clearance of the lid.

Heartfelts will help even with a bad seal.

A bad seal, in bad conditions, will render Heartfelt beads, or any other media, almost useless.
Ideal conditions....like I used to have?
I could have kept my cigars in a shoe box, with no humidification media, for 6 or 7 months out of the year.

Bad cooler might try weather stripping in the grove to help the seal just a thought

True, the storage area for the cigars needs to be a stable environment if you have a bad seal.

I think you should buy a Yeti cooler for your cigars.

Clean brand new kitchen sponge in a ziploc snack bag with distilled water works too. Keep it stood up between boxes and move it around every now and then. Takes up next to no room.

65 rh bovedas soak up the excess humidity.

Cooler sits at 65/70rh.

+1=5

Don't sweat the seals on the cooler(s). A little leakage is not a bad thing. Buy as many heartfelt beads that you can find. Preferably 60% or 65%. fog
