Hello everyone, I am currently in the Marine Corps and I may have a big promotion coming up soon. I would like to get myself a celebratory cigar for if I get it. I am wanting something special but not too expensive. At the moment I only have a Man o war armada and a montecristo no. 2. Should I just stick with one of those or does anybody have a better recommendation? I am currently deployed to Japan so I do have access to many great cigars.

Monty 2 is a great smoke imo. Pretty hard to beat if your selection is limited

I am on the other side of the Monte #2 fence, Montes just don't do anything for me. Being in Japan I would guess you have access to CC as well so I would suggest maybe something like a H Upmann Mag 46

I really like Monte #2. So, that is a good choice. (If the are from a small island nation)

If you do that, save the Monte and fire up a Dutch Masters.

Smoke the #2.

As for what you should get, you should get drunk and laid. Yep, that's the ticket.

Come on devil dog you better buy some for your troops to take as a good leader would. Go into town and fund you a cuban, don't buy a fake one though. Name brands like cohiba have a lot of fake cigars. When you buy one look at the over all quality, starting at the box, if you can't look at the box and say it's high quality it's not real.

Thank you everyone. I think I will go out in town and see what I can find. If I can't find anything worth it, I will stick to the #2. And also Thank you all for your Military support. It is appreciated more than a lot of people think.

Okinawa? Iwakuni? Somewhere elses?

Edit: Regardless do yourself a favor and keep an eye out for "Blantons Straight From The Barrel"

If you find it for like just north of 100 USD... BUY BUY BUY! Sexcellent bourbon not available in the states. If it doesn't suit your tastes, I'll gladly take it off your hands via trade of cigars or $$

Edit2: MOS?
