Active Humidity Control

So a little bit of a background. I'm a computer engineer that occasionally likes to play with microcontrollers. My buddy is coming up with a small form factor board and I've been brainstorming with a project to play around with it. So is there an use for an active humidity control?

So for small humidors I'm content with throwing a coupld of Boveda packs, Heartfelt Beads or whatever.

However, for my coolidor, or for cabinet humidors, would an active humidity control system come in handy?
If so, what should be some of the things to look out for?

As a minimum I would want it wifi capable so I can have an app to monitor from some distance. Obviously a form factor is an issue as I don't want to take up too much space in my collider.

What are your thoughts?

Again, I'm not selling a product here but rather would like your opinions for a hobby project of mine.

Thanks.

Can you put a flux capacitor in there too so we can autoload pre-embargo cigars?

If that's all it's needed I'm on it.

Honestly, what you are talking about is overkill for anything smaller than a walk-in. The best way to maintain stable humidity in a well sealed humidor is to pack it with cigars.

still a cool idea though.

^ this.

Or a really big tower.

My humidor is 6'x3'x3' I use 5-6 lbs of beads and a fan to circulate the air. I smoke cigars to relax, I don't want an app just to monitor something that could easily monitor itself.

But hey, if that's what tickles your pickle, than go for it.

Like others have said beads are perfect for what your looking at.

The app to monitor it from a distance while overkill I could see how that would come in handy for those that travel for long periods of time like military. They could monitor their cigars and give a buddy or wife whomever a heads up for when to spritz the beads or add a boveda.
