Card charged, should have been shipped Monday, still "processing." Me's has a feeling 75 cigars at an average price of $1.50 a cigar was too good to be true.... Boo hoo!

Yep, got an email back, they said they're "hoping" it ships by the end of this week but it most likely won't ship until next week.

Boo hoo! Boo hoo!

Oddly, instead of backordering the items that apparently aren't available and shipping what is, they're postponing the entire 43-item shipment.

Something tells me the saga has just begun....

I find calling and actually speaking with Shana or one of the other lovely CS reps. a better option than e-mail and Quicker too!!! No worries though, you WILL get taken care of satisfactorily.

Me's not knocking email support... they were responsive. Me just hopes this doesn't turn into an endless saga where the order still isn't shipped a week from now, stuff is left out of the shipment or incorrect items are included when it does arrive, etc.

I got a mailbox tag for one shipment but I still have not received one for the other. Of course I can understand if they don't exactly have all the goods. I did buy a box of Foundry "Time Flies" and I don't even think it has been released yet. Lol

That's fine but me's never seen them hold up an entire shipment before. Previously they shipped out what they had and then sent the rest when it became available.

Me's wondering if this is a new policy -- nothing gets shipped until everything is available.

That whole GSE thing was interesting ... some items were listed that haven't even hit B&M stores yet, at least not according to a General rep. I know that my local shpo hasn't seen the Macanudo Inspirado Black/White/Gold/Silver yet (the last three were offered on CBid as part of a sampler pack), or the Hoyo La Amistad.

A couple others -- the Don Tomas Nicaraguan and the LGC Serie R Esteli Maduro -- are pretty new and just started shipping to B&M's, I think.

My guess is that General wanted to get some recently introduced product "sold" by the August 8 FDA deadline, but might not have shipped CI enough product in time to fulfill all the orders.

My understanding is that it wasn't enough for manufacturers just to introduce a cigar at IPCPR, they actually have to be able to demonstrate that they sold it in some quantity before 8/9/16. Otherwise they'll need to jump through an additional FDA hoop, which of course will cost time and money.

Well, to be completely honest mine was'nt a GSE order. It was order of some other sticks that was still delayed for a week. So who knows what is going on.

This is interesting....I spoke with one of the ladies just to ask why...although a five pack of PDR 1878 capa mad. was won the same night as many other items it got" separated and shipped alone. And it was explained that someone screwed up and processed orders early and that the shipping on the larger order would be comped. Got the five pack today but the bigger order that I won first.....is a No Show. I sent them a PM to see whattup.

Wouldn't it just be easier to text a shpo owner what you want, and have it in two days? At whosaleish prices and not worry about it? And after awhile they hold new stuff for you that fits your style, and text you about it? Simplicity is beautiful.

Ordered CAO GSEs and they just arrived in excellent condition, so General Cigar can let the FDA know all is good. :-)

It will be interesting to see if these brands ever hit brick and mortar or on-line stores ever.

If they don't these could be collector items!

Maybe, but I'm waiting on an order of six boxes and a few 5ers, and everything on it is below B&M wholesale.

FWIW, if you've got a shpo owner giving you "wholesaleish" pricing, then a) he's taking a loss, or b) you live in a low-tax state. Here in NY, the tax is 28.5% ... so if the shpo owner's cost on a box is $100, he's got to charge you at least $128.50 just to break even.

Unless said shpo owner is shipping out of state. Then he could charge sd72 96 dollars and break even. Cause, you know, having Steve's phone number is priceless.

My total order is still in processing and it was for a total of 480 cigars and from what I can tell was all new stuff. So I would think the majority of what I ordered has probably not been received yet. So no big hurry, it's not like I am going to run out anytime in the near future.
