What is the difference? One is a pretentious, massively overpriced MSRP, very pedestrian cigar. The other is.....what?

The only Gurkha I ever liked. Hopefully they smoke as good as they did back in the day. Well if $10 doesn't get it, **** it. BTW I will ship these to someone if I win. LMMFAO

Spotted one of these last night in a humidor, same band but it was a toro (gran rothschild). Bought in May, 2014, so what's so new about the label ? I think I may have smoked one of these and didn't think it was very good. I may try the one I found last night later today. MSRP of 12.50 a stick, on sale at CI now for $ 29.99 (15). Bought mine for $ 1.40 a stick.

Funny thing is that when I went back to look for when I bought it, the description said Gurkha Estate Selection Shaggy, but the photo was of a silver label Graycliff cigar - so maybe Opie is on to something

Grabbed that Gurkha shaggy toro/gran rothschild and smoked it a while after lunch paired with whiskey and ginger ale. First puff was flavorful and made it look like a $ 6 plus cigar, second puff - not so good. Got another nice sweet flavor when the burn hit the wrapper and it too disappeared. The cigar burned unevenly from the get go and 3 touch ups did not get it to burn evenly. No wrapper issues other than the uneven burn. Burned it down to under an inch and set it down. Conclusion is that is an under $ 2 cigar aged 2 years + and even tho it was better than one I smoked previously. Of course, this is a shorter toro than the torpedo being auctioned, so the longer torpedo may be better or worse. Who knows when and what changes if any have been made with a Gurkha and whether it is made under license.
