The Sequel: Chelsea Clinton being groomed to run for Congress

While some pundits are declaring the Clinton political dynasty dead, sources tell us that it is far from over. Chelsea Clinton is being groomed for the New York seat held by Rep. Nita Lowey.

Chelsea could run for the seat in NYC’s 17th Congressional District once Lowey, a respected, 79-year-old career politician with nearly 30 years in office, decides to retire, we have exclusively learned.

Lowey’s district includes parts of Rockland and Westchester counties and, conveniently, Chappaqua, the Clinton family home base.

In August, Hillary and Bill Clinton purchased a home next door to their primary residence in Chappaqua for $1.16 million, which is intended for Chelsea, her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, and their two children, Charlotte and Aidan.

While Chelsea currently lives, and is registered to vote, in Manhattan, she could easily make Chappaqua her legal residence in order to run for Lowey’s seat when it becomes vacant.

A source told us, “While it is true the Clintons need some time to regroup after Hillary’s crushing loss, they will not give up. Chelsea would be the next extension of the Clinton brand. In the past few years, she has taken a very visible role in the Clinton Foundation and on the campaign trail. While politics isn’t the life Hillary wanted for Chelsea, she chose to go on the campaign trail for her mother and has turned out to be very poised, articulate and comfortable with the visibility.”

The source continued, “There has been a lot of speculation within New York Democratic circles about Lowey’s retirement and Chelsea running for the seat. There is a belief that Chappaqua is a logical place for Chelsea to run, because it would be straightforward for her to raise money and build a powerful base.”

A spokesperson for Lowey — who is serving her 14th term in Congress and was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1988 — declined to comment. A spokesperson for Chelsea didn’t get back to us.

Too bad they are fake New Yorkers. Chelsea should be made to run in her "Home" state of Arkansas. The Clinton's moved to and picked New York to run for Senate because they knew they couldn't ever get elected with their liberal stances of where they came from. Yes, this is a very hard line about where someone is from. I have lived all over the country for work and would gladly run in any of those states I lived in. But not specifically chosen just to get elected or have an office in Harlem like the Clinton's did for pure unadulterated political ambition. What sickens me is no one ever really held them accountable. When I turned 18 I chose to go to a big SEC school. The majority of my adult life has been spent down South by choice. Where I felt at home, my true home even though I was born and raised in Connecticut. This gives me an insiders look to the disdain and elitism that eminates from the Northeast and New England has for the rest of the country including my beloved and adoptive homeland of the South. Which I have been welcomed with in open arms from its people of like minded individuals. It's hard to be a conservative, Republican, or even an independent, growing up in CT where your view is seen as hostile and racist just because you don't agree with the other side of the Isle on most issues. That is why I'm proud that our glorious country saw what was in Trump and elected him. I've digress ed from really what I was saying so I apologize.

Best Regards

Welcome. You're correct about the South, having grown up in California I worried about moving here, but I never want to return to California. FWIW, I was welcome here by people of all colors and backgrounds.

What is it going to take to let the Clinton crime family know we do not want them, perhaps the traditional crime families will tell them to get off their turf..

I have been saying it since Hitlery lost the election.
She will now push Chelsea forward as the next Kennedy/Clinton generation.
Step 1. Cushy congressional seat from NY.
Step 2. Cushy senate seat from NY.
Step 3. VP, Prez, or perhaps a groomer Secretary position.

Yep, you can count on it.

Don't know anything about her politics yet, but I have zero doubt that she'll be way too far left for me.

That said, a few months ago, I turned on the radio in the middle of some sort of town hall or forum that was led by a woman who seemed extremely smart, level headed and connected very well with her audience...and with me. I was quite surprised to learn after about 10 or 15 minutes that it was Chelsea talking. Despite the politics and poor decisions of her parents, I was impressed and will try to maintain something of an open mind towards her. Hey....I think I'm impressed so far with Ivanka's judgement and she even likes her

Although MACS still considers himself a non kookafornian and an east coaster despite living nearly his whole adult life in California.

Maybe we should be forced to vote in our birth state.

My disdain for the Clinton's is well documented here... but they actually DID get elected in their 'home state' of Arkansas. Bill was the governor there from 1980 or so until he became the POTUS.
