All is well in Western Nebraska !
Haven't been on here much, just not interested in all the banter.
Hit an antelope on my Ducati in May, about 65 mph before I hit, 7K damage, didn't get it back till Oct, so I didn't get to ride it much. Didnt go down went over the top of it and drug it down the highway till it came out the back wheel, scared the crap out of me, but had to ride it home 20 miles stuck in 5th gear, if I went over 30 it shaked pretty hard.
Found this guy last winter, it was just like my first bike I got when I was 14, cost $299 new, this one has been sitting for about 20 years, half full of gas, spent a couple months polishing, sealed tank, replaced clutch and all the cables, carb rebuilt etc.
Good thing I had it, I rode it 400 miles this Summer, my getting around town bike, LOL
Working on another, a 1969 Kawasaki A1ss Samurai, but parts are a little more scarce.
Spent the Summer smoking most of the cigars that people had sent me over the last couple years, haven't bought many new ones.
Taxidermy, have a client going to New Zealand in Feb so I will be busy next Winter for sure.
Take care smoke what you like. X

Thanks for the words, I missed the RMCF to enter the little guy in a bike show, not sure if I had as much fun, but it did save me some bucks.
My friend who was just named oldest Kawasaki dealer in the USA, after Thanksgiving had a stroke and then found he was full of cancer, he helped me do a lot on it and actually rode it a couple times, He's now in a care center waiting to die, we talk about the old 2 stroke days, he has a 500 triple and a 750 triple in his shop. with more bikes that his sons raced.

But hey, life goes on and memories help !

Kevin,
Nice to see you posting. I almost had my big one (wreck on the bike) last Sunday. I was going 60 mph and had a minivan pullout to make a left turn from a side road on my right. If she would have kept going all would have been fine. But.....she didn't time her turn correctly and stopped in both my lanes to let a couple cars go by on the other side of the road. Initially I had let up on the gas a little to make sure she got across but didn't really brake too much because I thought she was going to keep going. I braked pretty hard and steered it to the right......I thought my handlebars or pegs were going to hit the ass end of her minivan. They didn't. Pretty sure if I looked at the back of her minivan you would see dust taken off by the sleeve of my leather jacket. Needless to say, I was able to keep control, turn around, drive about 90 mph and caught her. She immediately pulled over and rolled her window down. I didn't totally freak out on her but I did tell her in no uncertain terms that she missed killing me by about an inch. She had a car full of crying kids. I made my point and then turned around and went on my way.

Pretty damn close one. I smoked a good cigar that night. You never know when your last one will be.
