What are some of the strongest cigars on the market? A couple that come to mind that I have had are the Royal Silk, which I would die to have again (don't think they even make them anymore) and the Obsidian. One of the Oliva's I had once was pretty strong but don't remember which it is.

Someone told me once that the 601 La Bomba is extremely strong but I have never had one. Definitely on my wish list.

None of those approach a fausto or a lfd double ligero. La Palina black label is up there too

La Palina black label is sneaky strong, but I didn't think it was a powerhouse.

JdN 1970 Antonio is another strong one, the Dark Corojo isn't a slacker either.

Also LFD Firecracker.

FYI the original 601 La Bombas weren't that strong, they were tasty graham cracker bombs.

pretty much anything MOW is stronger than the ones listed in the op... that obsidian mc used to be my breakfast smoke... dharbolt named the 2 that first came to my mind, fausto and lfd dbl...

I would say Roma Craft Neanderthal is the strongest I have tried, but its strength overpowers the flavors if that makes sense so I didn't think it was the best line in that label. Intemperance BA hit sthe sweet spot for me with strength and flavor. Fausto and LFD DL are the standard I think in strong cigars. MOW Little Devil was another strong cigar that I thought would be really good once it mellowed out.

I bought a box of those little devils from someone on here... I think they were 2 years old when I got em, aged them another 6 months or so, but I swear they never did mellow out...

The strongest I've smoked:
Joya 1970
DE Norteno
Cuban Bolivar
MOW
Diesel Unholy Cocktail
Oliva V
Theses ones kick my ass on a regular basis. Strangely though, the LFD DL didn't do it for me, I guess I'm weird. Think

My favorite stout stick is LFD DL 452's..........one of the few stout sticks that provides flavor and balance.

Forgot the vitola, but it was a larger Oliva V...................kicked my azz a few years back.
A JdN El Martillo in the morning with coffee will get your attention.

King, it was probably the figurado V, for some reason that vitola, and only that one, in the V series kicks my ass badly. And I've smoke JdN 1970's back-to-back with lfd's and not been as bad off. No idea why, I generally am unaffected by most "Strong" smokes.

Is the Olivia El Cobre still around?

The Royal Silk essentially made me bonk but that could be because I chiefed it because I HAD to have a cigar on a night it was like 5 degrees. The Obsidian doesn't bother me but kicked a couple friends butts. So that is the only reason I said that one.

Oliva V Melanio is supposed to be full but it's blend is so smooth I cannot notice the strength. I need to try the maduro wrapper.

Illusione 888 maduro robusto was a sneaky strong cigar, wasn't expecting it to be so strong.

years ago when I liked full strength, El Rico de Habana (or a similar name) was a killer.

forgot about El Cobre, as CBD just reminded me.

El Cobre. .....blast from the past! Haven't had one of those in at least 5 years. Remember them being really strong but not completely overpowering the palate. Probably kill me to smoke one now as I'm a near exclusive cc smoker.

aside from LFD, Litto's line with his name on the label always seemed too strong for me a few years ago.

Back in the '90's I found the El Rico Habana Habana Club to be a very powerful and delicious smoke. I haven't had one in years and remember how the blend started to vary so no idea what they're like now but they were very strong back then. Of the most recent cigars smoked I consider strong right up there would have to be the LFD DL line. Damn tasty and plenty of strength. So many that are reported to be kick azz strong just don't hit me that way but I've gotten extremely tolerant so that might account for it. Always looking for something that will really open my eyes but haven't found too many recently.

As Melanios are one of my favorite cigars I have tried the Maduros. Definitely less smooth than the original Melanio, so I wasn't a big fan.

+1 for the Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970. When I want a nic buzz, I smoke it slow and let the retrohale slowly drift out.

Viaje makes a lot of strong cigars. The Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch are very strong when fresh, but mellow some as they age.

When I first started smoking cigars and buying inexpensive ones, hoping to find that great bang for buck "go to" smoke, one of the strongest ones was the La Herencia Cubana Oscuro Fuerte. Halfway through a toro and I had to sit down even though I was jittery as heck. That was about 4-5 years ago, and I haven't had one in a few years so...ymmv

Yep, those Fuertes used to be a go to cheapy for me as well, and they did really well with a long nap. Got a box here once for $35.

In all the years I have smoked premium cigars this is the only one that kicked my ars. Might have been because I was in a small shpo with poor ventilation but I literally broke out in beads of sweat. Drove home taking back streets at low speed thinking I might black out.

LFD double ligero made me ill. Never smoked another. Crap flavor and just gross. In fact, I don't think I ever bothered to touch another LFD of any kind. No desire to.

You want a GOOD, strong cigar? RyJ Cazadores, Bolivar Corona Gigante, or a Partagas 898. Full bodied and flavorful.

^^^^ I know what you are saying here MACS but cc will never compare to the nc in terms of strength, they just don't have a leaf that comes close to the power a nc can produce. With that said it is not a bad thing that a full bodied cc is nowhere near the strength of a nc.

Yep. I prefer the Cuban cigar strength. Strong, but flavorful vs strong at the expense of enjoyment.

When I smoked my daily rotation included at least one JDN 1970 or Dark Corojo, and at least 1 DPG. About once or twice a month if I'd smoke a Fuente Anjeo or an Opus X Super Belicoso. For me the Opus was by far stronger than all the others.

that's where I ended up too after years of trending up in strength. Burnt out my taste buds and dialed it back.
Rfenster helped a lot, and the last several years of active box purchasing were about 80 % cuban.

You'd prolly never find it but, the tat T110 was made as somewhat of a joke to be the strongest cigar out, and to quiet the people always bugging them for stronger cigars. Definitely the strongest I've had along with a Frank Llanzella(sp) of which I can't remember which one.

I smoke a few Fausto a week, and never thought of them as real strong....so I may not be the best judge....

I've still got a sealed box of 2011 WMD's. Great, strong cigar, but I suspect they've mellowed a little....might be time to crack it open....I thought the dink was going to buy 'em some time ago, but he chickened out.

I smoked one of my last couple TNT's about a month ago and they've calmed down considerably

Only cigar that the nic got to me a little was LFD DL 6x60....I agree with Shawn...not nearly enough flavor to justify the power. I love DL chiselitos, but a 60RG DL seemed rather pointless to me.

A local in Raleigh used to sell an LFD Icepick was an incredible strong, tasty cigar. Not sure they're still made....I have only one left :(

As mentioned above El Cobre and Rico were very good, very strong cigars that are no longer made.

Hank, when did you purchase the Royal Silk? I only know of two; one from 8-10 years ago - was an awesome, smooth/creamy med corojo....I have maybe one left :(
The other was a poor resurrection a couple/few years ago that was poorly made and unsmokeable to me....lousy burn and muddled, nasty flavors...admittedly, I only tried one and gave the rest away...maybe I got a dud?

Maybe you'd like the hot sauce cigar they sell here (used to, at least.) I forget what it was called....I thought it a gimmick, but truth was that if you rinsed off the cap, it wasn't an awful cigar
