That's sad. He made good cigars. I'll miss the daruma and San Andreas papi chulo.

So it begins I guess. Probably a lot more of this to come.

Agreed. I suspect margins are better in the jewelry business. At least until FDA figures out out to fug that up, too.

Loved the Namakubi Ecuadors - went through boxes of robs, PC's and short figurados....don't recall the 'names' of any....fileros or clingons.....idk, but they were all great.

Was there a Namakubi that wasn't 'Ecuador'? If so, I'm not sure if I had one. The Ecuadors all had the red band with a second red/white band that said 'Ecuador'....the ones I see listed on CI don't say Ecuador, but they do say they have Ecuador wrapper....not that it makes any difference now.

The only reason that I didn't smoke more of these is that they were rarely discounted very much....I may have become something of an elitist, but I'm still a cheap **** elitist

Anyone planning to stock up? I had a few here and there. Don't remember anything mind blowing (at least not at the price point). Definitely a good smoke though.

My thoughts, as well. Interesting that he said he chose to focus on jewelry because, "It's a business that's growing rapidly for me and not over-regulated by the government."

Huh. Go figure.

Davidoff was only the distribution partner, they don't own the line(s) as far as I know.

Room 101 stuff has been on closeout sales at the mothership a few times over the past few months. Some of them were really good deals to, I got a box of La Daruma papi chulo and mutante for a steal when they had them.

Sad for sure. He seemed like a good dude. His cigars are excellent, better than most on the market.

we picked up some boxes of San Andres and some boxes of Uncle Lee...oh well, they're good smokes...especially at the sale price...

Did the FDA change some of the restrictive language on "premium" cigars?

"Hit and Run" Ha! ..that's the truth.

..though, I do like the Mutantes. Got a box of I, II and III series. No need to "age" them so that's a plus!

Oh, and the Roxios are a surprisingly good smoke too. Starts kinda mild/medium but develops great flavor once it gets going.
And, you really get a lot of smoke time from such a small stogie. Very well packed. Burn is excellent. Nub is the best part, ha!
