Told them, honestly, that although we have a serious alcohol and drug problem in this country I believe we need to readdress some of our drug laws.

When brought called up for a "sidebar", secondary interview by all parties I was asked about my views on pot, I told them that i believe pot should be legalized, have the crap taxed out of it and lets focus on more serious issues.

I am home tonight and my obligation to the Federal courts has been met, for now.

Coffee smelled so good I had to come by!

Really I had some news to share as well.

I gave Costco my two week notice on friday!

The past 35 years I have been in the luxury watch and jewelry business, with my last company Montblanc not only was I able to sell high grade timepieces (we had some hand made pieces over 50K) but I learned to love the fountain pen!

I have a modest collection of writing instruments that look great on the shelf in my office, thanks to Montblanc introducing me to pen stores.

My past client/friend asked me two years ago if I would manage their first remote location if they came to Chicago; well they have come to Chicago and I start work on the 19th!

Anderson Pens is a small but profitable company based out of Appleton WI and since a couple of other players have closed over the last few years they decided to step up and come to town!

I am very excited to be a part of this start up and look forward to great success for us all.

Stop by, if I can get out of the store there is a good place to smoke nearby!

Thanks amigos!

I've known who my AM will be, I met with her today. She was a client of mine and we always got along great, covered a lot of ground as to how we will work together etc.

More to follow, time for a cocktail!

I'll try to pop in more often now that I'm down to 2 jobs now. But to make up for it I'll share this killer Scotch Ale I'm drinking. :)

Thanks for asking, all good!
Didn't you start some new as well? How about you?

There are a lot of ink-a-holics out there, yes they go to meetings!
Plenty of pen people around, add in conventions and tourists it seems like we will have a good first year.
Commute is good so far, just have to dress appropriately to make the 3/4 mile walk from the train to the Palmer House. We have access to the locker room and cafeteria too! Free lunch!!

I have 20' wall cases on the sides, one filled with paper the other with bottled ink. 1100 writing instruments in between with less then 100 ballpoints and roller balls.
It's all about the fountain pen!

Stop in and discover a new hobby!!! Lol.

SUCKS!
Thanks for asking!
I still need to work as I am 65 in August, one more year at least but I'd like to wait until I'm 68....don't see that happening
Seems more then ever you need to know someone to get a "real" job, that said my friends company's want to hire kids not experience. Swiss think kids know how to sell to kids. Oh well I was young once.
i do believe there is a massive amount of age discrimination out there as well as a lack of curiosity? 35 years in retail and wholesales and the skills I've honed over the years cannot be applied to selling widgets? I apply to 10 jobs a day, retail management, leasing, drugs, wine, just about anything but IT, crickets.

Hi Ho!
Someone pour me a whisky and pass the lighter please!

HAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!!! Love every one of ‘em to death, but it was an...exceptional...group with more issues and more baggage than any ten adults should carry. Took a serious toll on me. Actually, if this year had lasted a day longer, it would have broken me. The wine is untouched...but I see you haven’t checked the tequila hahaha!

Also...good Lord almighty - is this place still around?

Okay...so if I got distracted and didn’t do anything but sip my iced green tea and run to the bathroom until about 12:30, that means I have 22 minutes to enjoy my wine before I’m breaking the intermittent fasting hours, yes? Someone get me a Merlot pronto! There’s not much of a tip in it for you - I’m pretty broke - but I have a Starbucks card with $11.37 on it that can be aaallllll yours if you can hook a gal up!
