His election as president is an embarrassment to our entire country and the xenophobic crap he spewed to get votes speaks volumes about the issues with race and religion our country still has.

I hope for our country's sake that he does well. But I am not optimistic.

I expect everyone to give him the same ridiculous level of scrutiny they gave obama for 8 years...

...speaking of which, I heard he's going on vacation right after inauguration. Feel free to start complaining about that now.

Come Aug/Sept, his performance/approval will be so dismal,
then, just as before, boooom, his presidency gets rescued!

Eerie how history repeats itself. The formula worked once...hey why not again!

I pray and hope not tho.

that's a completely opinionated statement... one which roughly half of the world probably agrees with, and the other half disagrees with, with some fringe exceptions of course... pretty easy to make statements that half the world agrees with and half the world disagrees with... accomplishes nothing but makes you feel like your existence somehow matters.... like you got your say in... of course, half the world probably disagrees with that statement...

Putting our country first, over others, is not xenophobic. Building a wall doesn't mean he dislikes Mexicans, it means he wants to fix a GAPING friggin hole in our border control (or lack thereof).

We have laws in place that prevent discrimination against anyone (unless you're white). And in case you hadn't noticed... this racist country just had a half-black president for 8 years. We have politicians of every race, color, creed, and religion.

You can be sure the liberal media will be up his ass with a flashlight and a microscope all damn day, every damn day... unlike their love fest with Barry.

And if he goes on vacation we can cut him a little slack since he is taking $1 in salary, already saved the tax payers on Air Force One, and will likely help small businesses.

I would like to see some substance to match his rhetoric. He's said and promised a lot of things over the past year with very little detail on how he plans on doing them. fog

Is it xenophobic to put America as a higher priority?

I've heard these claims, and fears of isolationism.

Fact is, we need to correct the trade imbalance, and we need to stop doling out billions of dollars to countries who hate and disrespect us.

As for scrutiny, you need not worry.
You're reading a predominantly conservative cigar forum.
The rest of the country gets their information from the very liberal mainstream media.
Scrutiny will be the daily feed.

Is today the first day? Saturday? Sunday? Nope, Monday is the first day. Have patience and hope that everybody else in the world adheres to that calendar. Many of the Obama administration staff, in key National Security positions have been asked at the last minute, to stay on, indefinitely. Most did so, thankfully. America first.

Last night I realized how many of us get fired up over topics we don't understand, or know nothing about.
Case in point.....
My daughter (14) was doing a school project. She had to find 5 things that described her, and write a paper about each. One of her items was "Trump Supporter"
I will attest, she knows nothing about his policies. She has only heard the wife and I grumble about what if Hillary wins.
So I explained to her that Trump earned our vote. Now he must prove himself. I explained that we can wish and pray for the best, but it's on him now. He must earn the trust of the people now.
And she needed to be prepared to disagree with some of his decisions.

Opel... you are incorrect.

I spent the last 8 years listening to how Obama was the most divisive president for no reason than because the complainer felt un-unified...

So, now we get to call trump such for the next 8 years.

I hope everyone would agree Victor.

If they say they don't, then they are partisan brainwashed.

Sure I support a party, but that doesn't mean that I agree with every decision made.

My point was to never self identify with a politician. I hated that any politician would make a top 5 for her. I suppose she only did this because it's a daily headline.

This forum's election is rigged, 14-7, as I'm pecking and hunting...didn't he lose by like 3 million votes?

Must be that mysterious Electoral College thingamajig, where if you live in a part of the country that doesn't have a lot of people (gotta be a reason for that) your vote is worth multiple times the votes of people in most populated areas...

His inauguration speech was very inclusive, I look forward to Trump implementing his agenda. The sooner the better too.

I noticed Michell and Obama were very happy and gracious greeting the Trumps at the Whitehouse. At the inauguration, Obama again looked quite happy and gracious, Michell OTOH, looked like she had a cat turd under her nose.

Trump was also quite gracious calling for a standing ovation for the Clintons at the inaugural breakfast.

I am so proud of you!

as a well known yet accepted libtard here, I wouldn't waste my time on a forum surrounded by people who share my views because I would never learn, I would always be told I must be right about everything, and I would never experience what it feels like to be on the outside when my side is the benevolent dictator...and I fear the benevolent dictator more than any bad outcome on any single issue.

Dictators are bad, even when we agree with them...mmmkay?

I am an American taxpayer and voter , and I am not embarrassed by Trump's election as President....in fact I did my part by voting to make it happen. I am very optimistic that Trump will work to make America at least a better place if not "Great Again"

I believe Trump is already receiving vast amounts of scrutiny , maybe even more than Obummer received after only 24 hours in office. Trump never promised me "if you like your Dr. you can keep your Dr." , and so far I haven't heard of Trump blaming the state of the U.S on Obama........yet anyway......but who could say he was wrong if he did??????

Well we all know there will be people who will condemn him no matter what. GRANNY WARREN for one(FAUXCAHAUNTUS)
