8672 - Three Floyds Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout

Still sipping and waiting for this to warm up a little. First impressions is it's very good but IMO I have a half dozen stouts on the shelf that I like better. Kinda like an Opus X, it may be that it's more about availability vs demand that puts this on or near the top of most beer lists as the best. Slightly too sweet but definitely a winner.

Thanks to danm for the assist to get a chance to try this legendary stout.

I'm usually good with whatever they toss in a bottle, but a stout infused with birthday cake flavor is just not doing it for me

Agreed. That one is just too weird.

8672 1/2 - Last of the Dark Lord - Improved some with warming but just too sweet for my tastes. All the tasty notes of coffee, caramel and cocoa were there in spades. Guess for $50 I expected perfection. YMMV
