"I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House," the 58-year-old pop star said, before adding that she "knows this won't change anything."

Because she didn't break any laws. She's just full of herself and stupid. If that were a crime just about everyone here would be behind bars. fog

Pretty sure you're wrong.
You can't publicly say, imply or otherwise suggest that it's OK to bomb the white house.
At least I think that's true.

On the other hand, I know for a fact that Madonna is a rotten whorebag who is simply trying to regain relevance with her target audience: lonely middle aged women with poor self esteem and even poorer personal grooming habits.

Don't find her to be relevant. Not real sure if what she said is prosecutable since she didn't specifically threaten the President, jut where he lives.. Perhaps, the secret service will pay her a visit though.

Had she threatened him directly you would have a point. But, she spoke very carefully. She said blow up the White House. Very different from saying blow up the White House while the President is inside. No DA would take this case without having an ulterior motive knowing this would certainly be thrown out and said prosecutor would be made into an ass.

Ya...and if that quote is correct, she "has thought an awful lot" about blowing up the White House, and unless she has taken some action in furtherance of that act, not yet a crime, except on Minority Report.

From one retired LEO to another, had she directly threatened the POTUS she wouldn't need to take further action. That in of itself is a crime. There are a few people doing time for making direct threats to Obama.

Didn't know their names and thought there were more...

Madonna's statement is like those posters with Obama in the crosshairs of a rifle scope or with a noose around his neck...people displaying or carrying them weren't arrested...free speech

But if people overheard Timothy McVeigh say he had "thought" about bombing a Federal Building aren't they supposed to report it to LE , and then wouldn't LE be expected to investigate the allegations to find out how much "thought" he had actually given the idea ??
So wouldn't an investigation be warranted , at least to be sure she hadn't given it to much "thought" and possibly even come up with some preliminary plans on how to actually do such a thing?

It's just that "he" is not the only person who lives there . There are many people there at all hours of the day. I'm pretty sure there are Marines and Secret Service Agents ,at the very least ,there at all times. I'm sure there are several other staff members there also.
I'm also pretty sure if I were to announce publicly that I was "thinking a lot about blowing up Madonna's house" that I would hear from LE about making threatening statements or menacing or stalking Madonna.........which I assure you I am not........

I'm not trying to argue , I'm just saying what is good for the common man should also apply to "A" list celebrities too. Making threats is illegal no matter who is making them.

Didn't she also gobble the goo for Dennis Rodman and Jose Conseco?

Talk about sloppy seconds that would make even TW flinch.

Bottom line: She's a known celebrity, but the fact that these women look up to her makes their effort a thousand times weaker.
