Average = 337.14 (originally I posted the wrong numbers)

5 are above average
2 are below average

it's not 1 to 1. basic math truthiness - used large gap due to small numbers but it will never be 1 to 1 or 50% in the scenario above.

go read about mean median and mode if bored.

Not to dispute the math but ... If IQ is the measure of human intelligence I believe you'll find a good many that are average.

yea ... so? that has nothing to do with anything.

what you said was simply incorrect. Average simply does not work the way you describe.

Actually for every one above average there is one below average. Or half a person depending on the total population and how many are deemed average.

Steve S said half the population is below average intelligence. Not true, some are average.

I would argue that far greater than half the population are below average.

I would bet money that if you actually measured everyone (impossible, I know), you would find a lopsided bell curve with the mean falling to the left of the mode.

and that's just in this forum alone!

by the way I was just being a smart ass to SteveS, not trying to start a poindexter math fight

When the majority become below average, they'll just lower the standard.

By the way elropo I think I know what you were trying to say, but if you follow the thread flow it didn't come out that way.... and truly what you described is not how average works.

Some kids at MIT unfriended me recently. We were having a discourse about the immigration ban and they threw some statistics at me. I think they took issue with my math skills.

GJ

I haven't had time to work out lately, but when I was, I'm not sure what my max bench was.

I know what I was doing on my last set though.

I was doing 2 plates for about 4 to 5 reps.
