Don't order from JR. Ripoffs. Check out cigarplace.com. Great selection and prices are almost as low as what you pay for winning an auction on CBID

It is what it is. The prices are great and customer service is excellent. I know all of you like to suck up to CBID, but I don't. You're all probably employees. Losers

I can beat those prices by 20% every day of the week but I'm not dumb enough to post a competitor reference here.

Hmmm that cigarplace has all the same house brands as CI. So guess what? It's still owned by Cigars International and Cigar Bid. Gonz

Are you sure? Because I looked for Ramon Bueso Cigars and couldn"t find them. Buesos and Cains are my favorite budget smokes...

Prices looked pretty good compared to a lot of places, not sure if they're a legit business or not though.

You would know it if I were on the payroll because you'd have already been banned from ever posting here again.

I also have other sources with even lower prices than the company you're obviously spamming for but would never post references or links here.

I happen to enjoy hanging out here, too bad you won't be around much longer.

Regardless of all the chit-chat and competitor talk- (even umbrella companies mentioned, yes there's a bunch under the C.I. name) we still aren't getting our product or responses. Guess it's like the discount code- only a fairy tale.

For those who don't know, CI has a wholesale arm that sells to various retailers. It's probably okay to say who it is here, since it's owned by CI and I don't think we "mere mortals" can even order from it directly (because we're end-users, not retailers) so here goes. Mods, delete it (with my apologies) if it's still considered a "competitor reference":

www.meierdutch.com

This is how various retailers have Diesel, Bueso and other CI house brands. They're getting them wholesale through M&D.

Google says:

M&D is owned by Scandinavian Tobacco Company.

CI is owned by Swedish Match.

Different companies it appears.

Nope, same entity, just two different names/sub-companies. From Wikipedia:

Quote:
In 2010, Swedish Match and Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) formed a new company specialized in cigars. [...] The new company took over the name Scandinavian Tobacco Group.

Also, as seen here (in the right-hand column):

https://www.meierdutch.com/help/contact-us/

...they use the same good old "1911 Spillman Drive" address as CI and its many other arms do.

Invalid URL, both with and without the trailing period.

Amusing thread.

Trish isn't as mean as Steve was, so we haven't seen a lot of smackdowns regarding competitor references the last few years. But....for a very long time it was made clear here that aside from cbid, the ONLY cigar retailer that was OK to be discussed here....is Cigars International. Ignore addresses, warehousemen, parent companies, subsidiaries, etc.....it might be complicated, but it doesn't matter. Even thinly veiled mentions of other places used to warrant an edit, if not a warning. CI and/or CBID might share some storage or distribution operations with one or more other companies...it wasn't fully explained except to say that it doesn't matter with regards to mentioning 'other sources' here.

<-- current status. Still.

Mucho dinero in stogies sitting in limbo for over a month now.
Talked to CS last week and they couldn't tell me anything specific except "we're working on it the best we can".

Local shop and a certain "small" online outfit are taking the edge off but raping my wallet. Oy vey!

Anybody else getting stogies from the meltdown period???

They agreed to issue me a refund, a week later, nothing, and understandably so they were closed today. So my cigar spring break is out as there won't be enough time to order and get them here. Sooooo frustrating. I have no idea why it would take over that amount of time for a refund. Maybe I just don't know the retail world.

How is Mr. Gummy doing this fine day? Smoking anything nice tonight? I picked up a Cameroon Nub on the way home from the U of MN tonight. I like it. Lighter than I am used to. Bought a Camacho Connecticut too on a whim. Figured I would try something lighter so I don't burn the palate out and start sounding like Harvey Fierstein.

Time to relax, cruise all the forums, look for deals, and watch some Shark Tank, try to fall asleep before 0300.

Hope you have a great night!

My plans were for a hdm epicure2 that I grabbed from a box pass but the little kiddos had a different plan.

I have found that if you smoke 1-4 cigars a week, regardless of profile, it is pretty hard to burn out the palate.

My buddies who have some cigarettes peppered in there was well seem to have more trouble with subtle flavors.

What year are you in med school?
