Why fix it when our business model has been raking in the money. Sell cigars at a discount (for the most part) in high quantities and spread our customer service and warehouse employment thin to maximize profit margin. In all seriousness, I hope the employees there are taken care of through this mess but something about this company tells me otherwise.

P.S. I am prepared for my timeout come Monday if they have the time to read this.

Whatever they are paying their employees it's not enough😞
Except the IT group.

Not sure about that.
The CS ladies are most likely under paid.
The IT staff? Hmm...

Can't eat into the profit margin from a third world country product by paying staff more money or even hiring enough competent employees to do the work needed.

Pretty much.

Don't know of any instance where this has happened before that the business didn't shut down to fix the problem.

Honestly most companies don't reopen from a maintenance shut down until the software is running properly, lack of caring is what this company has shown the consumers. Used to be your reputation as a business meant something but today it seems that once they become established they don't care anymore.

OK ... we've had our fun ... time to move on ... the bitching and moaning has run its course ... they encountered a much larger than anticipated problem, did what they could to fill the orders while dealing with it and get back to normal ... most of us were affected, but a few among us just don't seem to be able to let go ...

If you were in a restaurant when their order-entry system went to sh** and your dinner came out slow, wrong, or whatever, you'd at some point seriously wear out your welcome by standing in the middle of the dining area and shouting imprecations at the restaurant owners, management and wait staff ...

Either you trust that they're gonna get it straight and be worth coming back to for dinner or you don't ... if not, find a new restaurant ... either way, knock off the shouting in this one ... I'm pretty tired of your antics and am willing to bet there's plenty of others who feel as I do ...

And don't let the door hit you in the a** on your way out ...

Most restaurants would shut down if their entire ordering system went awry. Or higher more waitstaff to supplement while they tested and fixed everything. Everybody that was effected would get free meals. They'd make public announcements that there would be increased wait times beforehand. But let's just beat a dead horse then continue ordering product. There's plenty of non forum users here continuing to bid ignorantly that rewards the site enough that they won't care about us. I just hope the real working heroes behind the desk get their fair share.

There has been nothing fun about this fiasco. I am still waiting for an order placed a month ago. Available quantities are still way down in at least in the categories I bid from. And prices are way up. It kind of reminds me of what happens at the gas pump when the oil refinery "goes down for maintenance". Deliver less inventory at higher prices. It's a terrific business model, just not for the consumer.

Wow.

Careful buddy, you may alienate the few users this forum has left and turn the forums into a ghost town.

A forum with no users is a bad sign for an eCommerce company. CI / CBid might have been the 800 Lb gorilla, but fk ups of this magnitude kill 800 Lb gorillas all the time.

GL with that tone towards the locals.

I have yet to buy anything on free fall and generally avoid looking at it. Never saw a good enough price on anything I wanted.

The place would be improved by the absence of some of "the locals" whose sole contribution consists of bashing the host ...

I found nothing wrong with the way the Web site was running before so it would be interesting to hear the pitch the IT guys gave for improving it.

It wasn't about "our"end of it that received the upgrade.......I think.
Their end, ordering, inventory mgmt, invoicing, bid scripts, etc.

I'm with you there Tony, with the exception of the Jaime Garcia Robusto 10-Pack....bottoms out at $34.99.
They are great with a long nap imo.
Well, it USED to drop down to 34.99.
We'll see when they get FF running again.

There was another good deal regularly on FF, but I can't remember what it was.

I've bought quite a few things off free fall back in the day.

I used to buy the DPG blues / blacks. Haven't seen them on there in a while.

^this.

My guess would be they upgraded their ERP which exposed how bad the site was initially programmed.

I noticed all kinds of flaws with the site even before the big oops of 2017.

All legacy stuff, I doubt the original writers are even available to work on it :)

... unless SteveS is the original developer maybe???

Alas, we as consumers don't really care if a website is bad or not, we only care if we get good deals.

I went back to look at my orders to see how long ago I bought some cigars. I can't load my orders as "all" as I get an error message. In the 90 days option I have 4 orders which appear to be correct except for the math. The order total on all 4 orders exceed the actual dollar amount by as much as around $ 200 an order. Something has seriously gone wrong there.

Ya, mine don't show up either. I don't have any in the past 90 days though, thought I bought something in that range, guess I didn't.

I probably would have done some bidding, but after watching the waves of noobs rolling through, I thought better of it.
