Boli CJ
Party Shorts
RASCC
RyJ C en C

if picking one box of the above, which would you select?

how much more would you pay if you could know it would be '12 or '13 vs not knowing (probably 16 is my guess).
Both sites have been reputable.

I guess it comes down to what you think is the gain in any of the above with age.

BTW, I am familiar with all of them, aged and fresh. Just soliciting opinions.

Thanks

RASCC, they're on sale.

EDIT:

LMFAO,

Apparently we're looking at the same sale...

I've only had the Boli CJ recently, but from what I've experienced both them and the RyJ are pretty much good to go right away on newer boxes. The Party Shorts are so readily available I'd probably lean RASCC, either way though I wouldn't personally overvalue them just for being aged,, so maybe $20-30 premium over new stock. I dunno, I'm sure the FOGs will weigh in with more nuanced opinions shortly.

Party Shorts or Boli CJ.

Have to admit I have no experience with the RASCC or the RyJ.

RASCC are good, I haven't had them in a while though, might buy some seeing how they are on sale right now.

I like them all quite a bit

rascc's with known age are way more than the others, but younger box is in line with all the others

best deal for money and age seems to be the C en C 2012 or 2013. leaning that way so far...there will be no further aging this purchase.
Only concern is might they be past peak after 5 years?

Such a problem! Wish they were all like this.

Not likely to be past their peak. I'm loving my 2013 vintage ccs right now, and might prefer them if the price difference wasn't crazy and the quality was good. One worry I have with buying old stock from stores is that you are probably getting the stuff that was already picked over for the last couple of years. But I don't know your source, so i cant really say.

RASCC and Party Shorts both age quite well. Have no experience with well rested Boli CJ or RyJ C en C.
You might seek reviews on specific years. For example, a friend recently gave me a well aged SCdLH Principe he picked up at a premium price and it was just ok bit didn't compare to current production Principes. He too found the 'freshies' far superior to the aged box he paid a premium for.
Occasionally aged cigars are available or even on 'sale' because they weren't particularly good when fresh and have been sitting around in warehouses.
Age rarely improve a bad cigar......
Also....Storage conditions are sometimes suspect (but not always) from 'grey' market vendors.....

thanks all.

probably gonna go with 2012 or 2013 c en c...$108 shipped.

can't stop thinking about the deal Whistlebritches brought to my attention a few years ago for these, 2 boxes for $140!

I've had all. Can't go wrong with party shorts, but I'd choose the RASCC.

Best minuto out there, IMO.

I'm just not a Party Short fan, but that's just my tastes.

#8 was good advise. Those RyJs don't seem to be as different year to year as some others and the price is always good. Love me some Bolis.

I agree with this, also not a party short fan and haven't had a Boli CJ but do love the marca. Out of those 4 I would probably go this route regardless of age.

RyJ C en C
Boli CJ (just because I love the others from Boli)
RASCC
Party Shorts

I think the RyJ are still a solid price when bought in 2 box deal.

Really though you should take advantage of those Alec Bradley deals on there.Sarcasm

RASCC...by a very wide margin...even if fresh, just to lay them down. 5 y.o. RASCC may be worth double the other 3 fresh

Party Shorts - very good...but distinct enough that I need to pair them with appropriate time/mood....hard to explain
RyJ C en C - always good; very consistent...never outstanding

Boli CJ - sorta like RyJ above, but a lot edgier...just never makes me sit up and say 'wow'

that seems to be the word...

though rascc's are my favorite, it looks like I'll order the 2013 c en c's.

this box ain't gonna get any older once it's here. all will go this summer so at least I'll get some that have had the age thing taken care of.

Love the boli's but have had my share of plugged when young/middle aged

love party shorts but have had a zillion of all ages

appreciate the opinions.

RASCC would be my vote, always enjoyed them the most of all you listed.

I always seem to miss the RASS when on sale and I really enjoy those.

Unsure if it was just me but last RyJ cdc i got averaged 1 outta 5 plugged cigars. It was a '15 box year i picked last year. But the 4 others were worth the plugged one

great smokes for sure.

This purchase isn't necessarily for my all time favorites, was just looking to fill a desire in that size range. No longer a "collector", no stash any more, but decided to have a nice aged box of smaller cigars that I know and love for the Summer...if they make it past Spring that is!

one last thing...

no none knows the value of the factory/location code anymore, do they?
Stuff like GUT or TUO, or PUM which are my current choices.

a while back there was less mystery, but I may be out of the loop currently.

Is anyone up to speed anymore? Not that it will matter cuz I'm gonna order anyway, but I am curious...kinda intellectually.

I haven't done a lot of research on the factory codes but from what I understand they change often now and it is really hard to know where they came now.
