Obama care will exist until the house and Senate have ratified the same bill. I don't see that happening anytime soon if at all.

and (anecdotal knowledge) Emergency Rooms were actually starting to turn profits because they were treating mostly emergency cases instead of routine crap for people without insurance or primary care physicians...people costing tax payers more than increased insurance costs had and will.

If this is the litmus test then a simple answer would be to set up clinics.

The idea gets laughed at and mocked when it's proposed.
But it would very economically rid the emergency rooms of the uninsured.

I really like these "Primary Care", "HEALRH ONE"
And all the other satellite "quick care "
Facilities that are popping up all around small and medium sized towns....
They really "take the load of emergency rooms"
But a few have BANKERS HOURS...
LIKE 9:00 am to 4:00 pm M-F (closed 12-1 @ lunch)
^^^ WHAT THE ****???
Who needs quick care then?
Plus they are all starting to accept tons of different
Health insurances too.

We've got a couple of those now... our local hospital shut down.. no surprise or particular blame for that... they'd been struggling for the over 20 years I've been around here.... closest ER is about 25 miles.... Mellow

Wait... we've had a single payer healthcare system, run by the gov't, for decades.

It's called the VA and it is an abject failure on every level. What makes people think if they run it for ALL of us it will get better?

Only those without critical thinking skills think so ... you know, the congressmen who bought into Nancy Pelosis bullship that "we don't have time to read it ... we can read it after we pass it" ... and the voters who put Pelosi and her acolytes into office in the first place ...

Health insurance company Aetna (AET) announced Wednesday it will completely withdraw from the ObamaCare marketplace in 2018, a decision Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price perceived as a sign of continued instability in the health care sector under the Affordable Care Act.

“Aetna’s decision to completely withdraw from the ObamaCare exchanges adds to the mountain of evidence that ObamaCare has failed the American people. Repealing and replacing it with patient-centered solutions that stabilize the marketplace to bring down costs and increase choices is the only solution,” Price said late Wednesday.

The company will not offer insurance plans in Delaware or Nebraska, the remaining two states where it was slated to provide coverage under the Affordable Care Act next year.

“At this time [we] have completely exited the exchanges,” Aetna said in a statement to FOX Business.

In April Aetna said it would not participate on the state exchanges in Virginia next year and last week committed to pulling out of Iowa Opens a New Window. . In 2016 the insurer sold plans across fifteen states. It trimmed that position to just four states at the outset of 2017, citing financial losses.

“Our individual Commercial products lost nearly $700 million between 2014 and 2016, and are projected to lose more than $200 million in 2017 despite a significant reduction in membership. Those losses are the result of marketplace structural issues that have led to co-op failures and carrier exits, and subsequent risk pool deterioration,” the company said Wednesday.

Last week the House of Representatives passed a health care bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. House Speaker Paul Ryan told Fox News Tuesday he is hopeful the bill will pass the Senate within a “month or two.”

A buddy of mine gets all his health care through the VA. He knows how to work the system, which apparently is a prerequisite for getting great health care from the VA.
