Having not been on in a while I went bid crazy and won a lot of great smokes.. With that being said today I'm a bit aggravated. Shipment goes out on a Thursday and 5 days later and a deal between our Feds and UPS says usps finished the last mile making it 6 full days before I get my delicious box!! My aggravation comes in the form of, I don't know about you all but if lay a smoke out at my home for 6 days it's a fried... dried up raisin! Surely that can't be good for all of my smokes? Or is it not really a big deal? In the past Cbids shipping has been super fast and not their fault this time.... usps and ups suck!! Am at odds for no reason? Thanks for your input brothers!!

It's no big deal....you'll get them and with some good down time, they'll be just fine. Don't loose sleep over this.

You know loose cigars are in baggies and boxes are sealed right?

It's not like they're nekkid sitting on your ashtray.

Just forward the box to someone you trust who can rehydrate your cigars. This might take upwards of a year, so be patient.

I'm at a remote Army base in the middle of the Pacific. It takes about 9 to 14 days for me to receive any shipments. So, when my 'raisins' arrive, I just chop them up and put them in with my breakfast cereal....

Two things ...

A) This isn't a "deal between our Feds and UPS" ... it's something UPS offers to shippers for a lesser rate ... CBid uses it all the time when they are giving "Free Shipping" to the customer ...

B) For some, it's no big deal ... for others it's problematic ... for me, it means a minimum of eight (8) days and sometimes nine(9) between date of order fill and date of receipt ... there's a bit of extra irony, UPS drives PASSED my house to get to the post office where my package languishes the extra day ...

Bottom line is, I think you'll find the cigars survive OK ... they'll thrive once you get 'em in the humidor ...

If it's that big a deal, switch to USPS. You have to call CS as that option doesn't appear on the shipping options (not sure why). They will charge you a $7.95 flat rate. My closing day is Tuesday. 9 time out of 10 my smokes would arrive on Saturday. You read it correctly. Four days for damn near every cigar I bought here.

Did not know that, thanks. FWIW I have only had one bad shipment from Cbid, and they were dried out beyond redemption. Customer service took care of it, but, you know, that was then, not sure now.

Had a shipment that was processed last Thurs and scheduled to get it tomorrow. Lots of humidity between Penn. and here so I doubt if any problems.

Negative. Since switching software internally, we do not have the ability to designate USPS exclusively any longer. Orders can arrive by UPS, USPS or a combination of both.

All orders arrive within 2 to 6 business days after shipment, depending on your location. Shipping times are not guaranteed.

Many apologies.

Wow... hadn't bid here since the update... it'd have to be an amazing deal to get me to bid now... 6 business days means 8 actual days since ups doesn't work Saturdays...

What's really sh*tty is that shipping prices here are a borderline scam since the money charged for shipping and handling isn't used for shipping and handling... USPS was probably cutting into the profit made off the already ludicrous shipping costs...

THIS^^^

After returning from Nic. I had a cpl e-mails that were troubling.....

From another site I was made aware that my info had been compromised, so my credit union cancelled that card on file. So upon my return I also had an e-mail from CBid CS stating there was a problem processing my order. ( @ this point I had won 2 auctions but neither had shipped because of this snafu, and another won last night )
So this morning I call to get this straightened out....afterwards I receive an e-mail for my " auctions won " rather than shipping all together for savings on shipping....I get order confirmations for each one separately and they're shipping them separately as well for a total of $13.00 Surely they could have / should have combined these in ONE ORDER
( one ended on Thur. the 27th (my shipping day) and the other on the first of May. In the past anything won on Thur. went into the following weeks basket.

What were the orders you ask? I won (1) lot of ten JdN Dark Antano's (won on Thur. 4/27) and a box of Genesis The Project robustos. (won on Mon. 5 /1

seems like offering less and worse shipping options is a really bad idea when your online profile looks like this:

Pretty big corner.....most of four hours....but....I suppose if it comes to that, Folcroft and Philly (PA) are both closer than Bethlehem....and Easton is about the same distance...might never actually get to Bethlehem

Only 52? I'm shocked at such a low number after the debacle of the software change.

No disrespect intended to the ladies of CS, but CI and CBid are not worth defending any more. They've jumped the shark.

I'm going to miss being able to acquire Bueso cigars. I'd like to know how much time he has left on his contract with CI...

I'm not positive I am right, but it seems that many more of the cigars being offered on Cbid are CI exclusives.

Well, my shipment arrived yesterday as promised (6 days from processing date) and in fine shape. Of course it was 85% humidity around here, so hard for them to dry out!

6 days is a really long time when you pay $15+ for shipping... the other place lets you overnight for $22...

My shipment did finally show up, what ups was showing as 5 days turned in to 6 because they didn't get my shipment to the PO until lunch time... it got held over another day, however delightfully they will all be ok... typical shock and a solid rest in the humi I'm sure will smoke fine!! These are the first auctions I've bid on in several months trying to open room in my humis for new... there does seem to be some unfortunate changes, although I'm not ready to leave yet I was suprised to see that it cost me an exact $10 to ship 4 - $3 bottles of cigar juice.... shipping was 50% of the cost that's crazy!!

Well, after they fixed the charges on my order, my shipping for this order was $6.95. You DO, however,
have to factor in shipping costs around here to determine if it is a good deal or not.

Well ... that's a CHOICE that was made by CI, not one imposed by the software maker ... someone actively chose to set it up that way ... my guess is because of a very favorable rate or possibly a kick-back of some kind, the USPS choice was removed to be sure that ONLY UPS could be chosen ...

For many, this wouldn't be a big deal ... six of one, half a dozen of the other ... for me (and others in my shipping zone), it IS of consequence ... a shipment sent from CI to me via USPS on a Monday will arrive here by Friday ... that same shipment sent via UPS (at a higher cost) will arrive the following Monday ... the "free shipping" SurePost option will arrive 8 or maybe 9 days after shipping ...

Honestly, that has become a factor for me in choosing where to make purchases where I never used to consider other alternatives ...

Buying Cigar Juice is crazy enough when you can get distilled water for a buck a gallon at the grocery store.

We agree on something!! ^^^

I got sucked into a freefall auction, embarrassingly enough, before checking CI prices and overpaid a little... but the good news is, they've already shipped and will arrive in a few days.

CI / Cbid shipping policy has also become a problem for me ever since they switched to UPS "Surepost" shipping for all orders.
Minimum 8 days from PA. to So. TX. isn't bad enough so, they also raised the shipping charges a few months back as well. Pay more, get less, its the American way I guess.

Another Co. that I frequently order from is fifteen miles distance from Cbid. If I order on Fri it arrives Tue via USPS at NO CHARGE. Never thought I'd be singing the praises of USPS until recently but, they beat UPS hands down.

Prices are frequently as low or lower than here after adding shipping cost and without the need to "win" a bid. I don't see how they (Cbid) are gonna win the hearts and minds, not to mention trust of new customers when they treat people that way. Higher prices across the board and ship via the worst possible way. I've only been a member here for about three years but in that short time I've seen things go from great to why bother.

Ropo, you're spot-on there ... I was perhaps the biggest all-time detractor of the US Postal Service ... then, a while back, something at the post office changed ... funny thing was, not long afterward, something at "big brown" changed also and while they claim in their advertising that they "know logistics", they sure as hell don't seem to know how to get the job done very well ... I seriously can't believe I'm actually saying this, but the Postal Service does twice as good a job as UPS for half the price ...
Like yourself, I get packages from several different points of origin on the east coast on a semi-regular basis ... without exception, those sent via USPS arrive in 4-5 days (and for some reason, stuff sent from one provider in upstate NY usually arrives in 3 days) while UPS always requires 8 and often 9 days to make their delivery ...
Some time back, I stopped buying from one source that I won't name that's located in NoCarolina because delivery time was so slow, but now stuff from CI takes as long or longer ... I think it's time that they rethink their policy about not using USPS ... the exclusive deal with UPS isn't working all that well in winning the hearts and minds of many long time customers ...

Well, I haven't been following or checking in for a couple of months, but there sure seems to be some changes going on. Unfortunately, I do not get the feeling it's for the better.
