other thread was getting too long to post useful info...

Saturday May 13, roughly noon to 6. backyard brick patio looking at Blue Hill Reservation, pretty nice, decent privacy.

the number attending has been going up, with a few of my local pals we're probably looking at a final count of 13 to 16 or so.

no indoor smoking, you're lucky there's indoor plumbing...Joan gets her own bathroom.

plenty of folks are bringing stuff, so nothing is expected. do what you want. There is a piped-in gas Weber grill, decent size but not enormous, so those looking to cook will have to figure out a rotation. Plenty of time though, so it should all get cooked.

If you think of it, no harm bringing a bag of ice.

plenty of chairs, might be able to make use of a folding or card table or 3.

I'll plan on having a case or so of beer, bottled water, kinda thinking no hard stuff.

I'll probably make a vat of tabouli...sorry but I work so many hours I just won't have time to prepare much more.

Cigars! Again, nothing expected. Do what you want. I might put out a box with a few smokes to start a takes/puts thing but I don't care if that catches on or not. I don't smoke all that much anymore, and I don't keep a stash anymore, so I don't need any.

I'm not worried about posting my address, unless anyone can tell me why that's stooopid. A lot of people here have it anyway.

I will give my cell upon PM request.

What did I forget?

Frank

HA!
I went to that dollar store, they did not have any...

decided that everyone can tip their ashes on the brick patio and extinguish their smokes in a bucket of water that I will dump in the sewer as needed.

But I could use a guy with your problem solving vision, are you available for special events?

No surprise, Frank ... if you think back to the original post, you might recall that I said:

SteveS wrote:
... you might have to order them so it's a good idea to move on this right away ... 5" melamine ashtrays are a buck each when ordered in case lots (24) ...

But, under the circumstances, you'll probably be alright ... you alternate plan will probably work OK ... I've got a butt bucket out back that I use to dump ashtrays into ... the one featured in the link below is quite similar to mine and would probably serve the purpose well plus at $15 it's affordable ...

Tarps, duct tape and cigars.
What the hell else you need?

Is this pants optional? Or was that only for your last event?

It's always better to need them and halve them.
I mean wantonly knead them.

Wait.

Have them and not need them, rather than need them and not have them.

It's like keeping a condom in your wallet. Because let's be honest, when would you actually get lucky enough to use it before the half-life of latex rendered it useless.

Ok then, why didn't I think of that................I still have that condom in my wallet from high school, because you never "know" Anxious

My son's little league game has been moved up to 3:00 on Sat to make up for some rain outs. I'm still planning on making a showing but I'll have to bug out around 1:30. I can get there a little early if you need help setting up stuff.

It'll be a hit and run for me. I gotta get to Millbury around 2:30.

I'll grab some steak tips or shish kebobs or something to throw on the grill, a bag of ice or two, and some soda for the non-drinkers. Need any paper plates and plastic ware?

Update... latest email from the league... game is back to 5:00. The notice was sent to the wrong team. So you're stuck with me until about 3:30.

Just need to make sure my parole officer doesn't find me first... I'll lay a trail of moth balls along the way to cover my scent.

no matter what he answers, he will forever be known as Theodore, even though the second B probably stands for Badger.

Real name is Craig, but I guess Theodore could work.

2nd B is for badger as in Bucky Badger... University of Wisconsin - Madison's mascot. The avatar is known as the F'em Bucky (if you look close, he's flipping you off) which was popular in the 80's and 90's before the PC police squashed it. Victor probably remembers it, I think he was in grad school there about the same time I was there.

I'll bring some Teriyaki steak tips to toss on the grill (was gonna grab a couple rack of ribs but that would be disrespectful to the host) , couple cases of soda and some ice. Let me know if I should grab anything else along the way.

Frank, PM sent with my cell number.

I'll bring a fold up camping picnic table thingy too. It's more of a kids sized camping table but we can use it as flat space to put crap on.

In case I forget, SteveS wants to do a virtual Herf with us via cell phone. Told him we'd call him around 1:00, 2:00 our time.

The old pistol is still kicking. Not sure folks know of him but he's one of the corner stones of C-bid forums. Been here waaaayyyyy longer than most.
