Raining like a mutta-fugga in Philly right now, and according to the weather channel, it's heading your way, if it hasn't gotten there already. Hopefully your herf will still be a success.

Had to leave early for little league only to find out they called it due to weather... found out AFTER I got to the field. Dang nabbit, I should have checked my e-mail before I left. sigh...

Was great to hook up with old friends and meet some new ones. Next up Hyannis in Aug and Maine in Oct.

Even though Frank claims to be an old fart... well, he's right. He's the only person I know that still owns a flip phone. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. Thanks for hosting us Frank.

New contest for next herf... who can shoot Ed's drone out of the air. I might have to buy a paintball gun.

Steve S made a showing via phone and Palma's bomb of goodies hit the spot. (Well... the music kinda sucked but we played it anyway).

To repeat myself... Thanks for setting it up and hosting Frank. Looking forward to the next gathering.

yeah, but when you turn the dial on that flip phone some pretty funny texts pop out, as you know.

I probably had the best time of anyone. Didn't lift a finger.
Your steak was a big hit, Theodore, we thank you. Allen the undocumented alien took care of the grilling in your absence.

It's just amazing the distances folks will travel, especially on a risky weather day, because of this crazy site. Great to see those I've met before, and awesome to meet Basic Patrick, The Man. The Legend. He's much smaller in person though.

Thanks for coming Craig, it was really nice to see you again. Kiss that old dog for me.

Not another moment should pass before we mention the Hawaiian music soundtrack. The singalong was epic, Frank.

I had asked Craig his real name and Rman took a shot...

See...??? random things like this tend to stick. When I introduced myself with my real name and screen name I was quickly corrected on more than one occasion that I'm Theodore or Teddy. You guys suck.

Farking Rman branded me.

Flip phones don't have cameras. The rotatory dial thing takes up too much space and he was fresh out of the Polaroid instant film.

He might have it in cuneiform but that will take some time to chisel out.

I was actually surprised nobody mentioned the beans.
I always put beans, but about half what most people do.

I don't care what Wheel said, my chili always has beans (black, pinto, navy... whatever is handy).

The basic ingredients are the same but I don't think my chili is exactly the same every time. I like to sample everyone's concoctions. Today seems like a good day to whip up a batch.

Off to run some errands, might as well pick up some chili cookins.

I always add kidney beans to my chili........chili with beans-The Gift That Keeps on Giving d'oh! d'oh!

Thanks for having us Frank, I had a great time and it was nice meeting everyone........it will be nice to have faces to go with some of the screen names.

I'd also like say thanks to Palama, my wife loves the backscratcher, I'm hoping I get to give it a try myself. Very nice gesture. Thank You

I have to agree with you Teddy Angel , chili and spaghetti sauce start with a "basic recipe" and can be enhanced depending on what you have on hand, every batch is a one of a kind masterpiece(or not).Seriously, it was nice to meet you Craig.

Suggestions for next herf:

Less talk about being old.
Less talk about sickness and disease and other things that being old does to you and your friends.
More politics.
I want people offended.
Religion didn't cut it. So it will have to be politics.

And it ain't a herf without SteveS. Glad Theodore could afford the nickel and place the call. Next time we Skype. But we'll have to bring our own technology. Franks flip phone won't cut it.

My wife ran a kosher bagel shop for 20 years ... I never felt particularly Jewish but our dog loved those bagels so much we couldn't say the word around her ... we'd spell it out B A G E L and you could see the dog perking up as if she were thinking "are they spelling bagel" ??

Fact is, a lot of traditional Jewish food is really quite good ... latkes, blintz, challah bread, knishes (though I never considered barbecuing one despite my love of all things BBQ) ...

Welcome Mr.Loaf,

Now you can officially join those of us who are offended....nay, OUTRAGED by the profane avatar that BuckyB (aka Theodore) uses. I DEMAND an apology and massive reparations from U of Wisconsin for that obscene badger that has been flipping us off for years now. We need a march!
