A major new study out of Harvard University has revealed the true extent of the mainstream media’s bias against Donald Trump.

Academics at the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy analyzed coverage from Trump’s first 100 days in office across 10 major TV and print outlets.

They found that the tone of some outlets was negative in as many as 98% of reports, significantly more hostile than the first 100 days of the three previous administrations:

He doesn't make it difficult.

I bet if he'd just STFU for a minute they'd have a lot less ammo.

I don't doubt the bias...not sure anyone around here actually questions it...except maybe Tony :)

But, if 98% of the reports have something negative to say....well, I suppose there might be more than JUST bias at work

I don't agree and I don't think those who support him are crazy ( that's media talk @ best ) but I DO think folks are harder on him than they were the messiah Obama in his first year. He could do No Wrong and is STILL a media darling with most. But I'm with Drafter, I wish he'd STFU / STOP TWEETING and concentrate on the issues he promised to address. That being said he's ( Trump ) correct in that the media IS majorly biased towards Demoncrats

Paul, I did not mean that any who support him are crazy, my bad. I was speaking about the alt right, whom I do consider crazy.

most of the hatred seems unsubstantiated with any actual policy but more of an emotional and visceral dislike

i read a simple comparative analysis study on cnn and their coverage of trump over a period of a couple weeks and something like 94% of all "analysts" they had concerning trump were anti and have always been anti vs a handful at best who were supporters

im sure they could find more supporters to maintain "balance" if they want

this is all, of course, aside from the fact that >90% of all "reporters" and analysts are liberal

nothing like hearing both sides of the story...

It's possible Trump bears some responsibility for this...from the beginning of his campaign he has been loudly and consistently critical of the media, calling out specific papers and networks for being dishonest...he publicly hammers at them whenever he has an audience and blames them for his problems, many started by reports of his tweets and statements out of his own mouth...his latest threat to cancel daily briefings is just the latest example...

but I get that there are more left leaning than right leaning news sources...whenever I tune in to Fox, it's all positive Trump news, or quiet, hardly ever see a left viewpoint expressed...and definitely little criticism of Trump...

AND the concerns are real, so just covering them makes media look evil to right wingers, even when the reports are completely accurate.

Big man, pig man
Ha, ha, charade you are
You well heeled big wheel
Ha, ha, charade you are
And when your hand is on your heart
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
Saying 'Keep on digging'
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find
Down in the pig mine?
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry

Bus stop rat bag
Ha, ha, charade you are
You fu*ked up old hag
Ha, ha, charade you are
You radiate cold shafts of broken glass
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost worth a quick grin
You like the feel of steel
You're hot stuff with a hatpin
And good fun with a hand gun
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry

Hey you, White House
Ha, ha, charade you are
You house proud town mouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
You're nearly a real treat
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused?
You got to stem the evil tide
And keep it all on the inside
Mary you're nearly a treat
Mary you're nearly a treat
But you're really a cry

Who is the "alt right"? And how would you describe them?

It's a term used by the establishment and the far left.

Again the war of words and control of language to control weak minds and temper the fire of public polls.

From Wikipedia

The alt-right, or alternative right, is a loose group of people with right-wing to far-rightideologies who reject mainstreamconservatism, principally in the United States, but also to a lesser degree in Canada andEurope.[1][2][3]  White supremacist[4][5][6][7][8]Richard Spencer appropriated the term in 2010 to define a movement centered on white nationalism, and has been accused by some media publications of doing so to whitewashovert racism, white supremacism, and neo-Nazism.[9][10][11][12][13] The term drew considerable media attention and controversy during and after the 2016 presidential election.[14]

Alt-right beliefs have been described as white supremacist,[15][16][17] frequently overlapping with antisemitism and Neo-Nazism,[18][19][20]nativism and Islamophobia,[21][22][23][24][25]antifeminism and homophobia,[18][26][27][28]white nationalism, right-wing populism,[29][30]and the neoreactionary movement.[15][31] The concept has further been associated with multiple groups from American nationalists, neo-monarchists, men's rights advocates, and the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump.[21][30][31][32][33]

The alt-right has its roots on Internet websitessuch as 4chan and 8chan, where anonymous members create and use Internet memes to express themselves.[15][20][34] It is difficult to tell how much of what people write in these venues is serious and how much is intended to provoke outrage.[29][35] Members of the alt-right use websites like AltRight.com,Alternative Right, Twitter, Breitbart, andInfoWars to convey their message.[36][37] Alt-right postings generally support Donald Trump[38][39][40][41] and oppose immigration, multiculturalism and political correctness.[19][26][42]

The alt-right has also had a significant influence on conservative thought in the United States, such as the Sailer Strategy for winning political support, along with having close ties to the Trump administration. It has been listed as a key reason for Trump's win in the 2016 election.[43][44] The Trump administration has also brought in several figures who are associated with the alt-right, such as White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon. [45] In 2016, he described Breitbart as "the platform for the alt-right," with the goal of promoting the ideology. [46]
