...but you were OK with the hate Obama-no-matter-what mentality for 9 plus years...the Trump hating has only been going on for two years...buckle your seat belt...

I hate to speak for tg, and I hate to defend him even more (HA!) but he really wasn't on autopilot with the hate Obama crowd. Really did not like him as Prez but was more likely to say provocative funny stuff when being negative than some of the vicious stuff thrown around for nearly a decade.

Joe is more of a "typical libs..." commentator, and I know he's laughing as he types.

Ending the Embargo will be great for American business interests.

Rubio is with Trump (and the older Cuban-American power brokers) on this I believe.
Anyone know Cruz's position?

Just curious to see what might have been...

yea...but it just makes it more difficult to say mean things about Trump when some people you know and like are Trump supporters...my daughter, wife and SIL are Trump die-hards so we avoid talking politics to maintain harmony...I come here to blow off steam...to express myself in a safe place...

Just smoked a Cuban. Castro himself took a break from enslaving his people to roll this one.

Frank that's a pretty good point. The Cuban embargo has been a pretty non partisan thing in here to the point that some gave credit to Obama even though they still thought he wasn't born here. To equate not supporting reinstating bans/embargo to trump hate rings hollow, almost as if you must support everything he does or you are a hater. Sounds like a patriots fan. Lol.

Actually, it's kinda the exact opposite.

It's not about supporting everything he does.
It's about how quickly people come out to oppose his position. Even when his positions shifts (which as been the case all too often) those who opposed his first position are now in opposition to his opposite stance.

The embargo is a subject on the back shelf in most American's minds.
People have opinions on it, but it's not typically a strong one.
Nobody chastised Bush or Clinton or Bush before him, etc. because of their indifference on the embargo.
Suddenly Trump does something and people are complaining.

This is a cigar forum. We're anti-embargo by definition.
But if Trump removed the embargo tomorrow, many of the same talking heads blasting him today would blast him tomorrow for his actions.
You can take that to the bank.

In the meantime, I'm not saying Trump's decision is the right one.
I've long thought that the embargo should be lifted and I would welcome an opportunity to visit there regardless of who their leader is. I approved of Obama's slow efforts towards that end.

.

Yup.
These are my words from this very thread.

Yet I get accused of following in step with Trump.

THIS is why it's difficult having adult conversations with the Trump haters. When you guys rant, if someone simply shrugs you see red. You need others to believe everything Trump does is bad.

I posted that Trumps decision may not be a good one, and said I agreed with Obama.
Yeah, I can see how you got confused simply because I provided a different perspective elsewhere in my post.

LOL!
At least we understand each other now.

Next thing you know I'll need one of the liberals to defend me...

WAS a complex issue. Up until the day that the Soviet Union collapsed. Since December 25, 1991, it has been about...and ONLY about votes (and donor cash) in Florida.

Don't axe me how I know this..........but a bloke 'ew knows a bloke, 'ew knows a bloke, told me you can still go whenever you want via Cancun. Just walk across the airport lobby to AeroCubana and buy a ticket in cash. Carry cash, don't plan to use your cell or your ATM or Credit cards while there, obv. If anybody axes you, you are there doing missionary work.

Just so I understand:

Now Trump is a big meany because he doesn't want to support a corrupt communist dictator?

This all gets so confusing.

He only supports the ones who aren't 90 miles south of Key West. That's the rub in all of this. I also agree with MACS on this one. fog
