I've been waiting for this to start. And since July 4th is in 7 days, we don't have much time.
Mandoman took point last year, da General in years past.I'll volunteer this year. OpFTH is a good cause and I'd hate to see this disappear.

Here is the link to last years fund raiser.
http://www.cigarbid.com/...pFTH-CAT-Challange-2016

And a Link to the 2015 fund raiser.

http://www.cigarbid.com/...y-OpFTH-CAT-fund-raiser

Copied and pasted, with minor editing, from last year.

Allrighty folks lets get this party started!!

It is time for the "Official" Start to this year's festivities.

As many of y'all know Operation From the Heart is a nonprofit organization that sends care packages to our soldiers serving abroad. OpFTH is 100% donation driven, when the donations stop Bill and the other agents fund our shipping costs out of our own pockets.

All donations go the Operation from The Heart shipping fund!

Here are the "General" rules

Once again this year is all about shipping funds as Smitty informed me that the OpFTH account is basically EMPTY

This year's goal is a minimum of, NOPE, not this year. I know that all will give till they bleed and we don't need the added pressure of a goal.

YOU CAN PLEDGE ANY AMOUNT!
Here is how you can make your contribution.

Personal or Certified check, or money order.(Send to schmitty but make them out OPERATION FROM THE HEART or OPFTH (not schmitty))

OpFTH
29456 Groesbeck Hwy
Roseville MI 48066

Cigar donations can be sent to

schmitty (at the same address above)

please be sure to add a note with your CBid handle, # of cigars and that this is for the C-A-T if sending cigars (will make verification much easier)

The preferred method for monetary donations is paypal. goto Paypal and send money to: [email protected] if that is easier for you Techies REMEMBER TO INCLUDE YOUR CBID HANDLE

^^THIS EMAIL ADDRESS HAS CHANGED FROM LAST YEAR SO PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THAT DETAIL!!!^^
Instant, Secure, online contributions VIA Paypal VIA Credit Card on the OpFTH website!

www.opfth.org
Click on the Paypal or JustGive Logo’s on the left hand side of the page.
WE prefer PAYPAL, you get an instant receipt for tax purposes!
The paypal will provide Schmitty with real time verification, and lets try to make his life easier.

Paypal is the prefered method (DO NOT list Cigars or Cigar Bid anywhere in the donation...Title donations "C-A-T 2017" Email your confirmation receipt to Ypetryna, PM for e-mail.

Prizes determined based on random draws

Tentatively only one prize per donater (this could change though) and just because a donation is made does not guarantee winning a prize.

Fund raiser will run through July 9th weekend. Prize drawings will take place a few days later, Donations MUST be confirmed to be eligible.

The Prize Structure will follow shortly

No prize tiers this year and while there is no "minimum" donation amount please remember that we are talking about cigar prizes that for the most part are worth at least $50 and much more considering all the Full boxes of smokes being offered.

Each box cost roughly $15 to ship. That is as easy as winning one less fiver this month, or sending one less PIB/Trade/RAOK etc

Now just a few bits of FYI

OpFTH is a 501(c) Non-profit
None of the Agents or Directors take a salary, we are 100% volunteer
The main office (smitty22 in Roseville MI) spends roughly $500 a month in shipping give or take.
close to 80% of OpFTH's shipping funds come from the fine B/SOTL here on CBid
The annual 4th of July C-A-T accounts for roughly 60% of the Annual funds used each year
Right now There is very little funds in the OpFTH account, which means smitty self funds shipping cost until more funds come in.
As long as there are Soldiers fighting abroad OpFTH will continue to send packages
There are currently about 20 on our shipping list

If you know of someone serving over there, please get me their APO and expected ship home month (as best as OPSEC rules allow) and I will get them added to the shipping list

And as always I extend my, Bill and the rest of the OpFTH family's MANY THANKS to ALL that continue to donate and allow us to keep sending as many packages as possible to those Soldiers that are risking their lives for our better good.

and finally here are some links to help

on facebook
https://www.facebook.com/opfth?fref=ts

on Crowdrise
https://www.crowdrise.com/OperationFromtheHeart

Cafe Press (link through and buy OpFTH themed goods)
http://www.opfth.com/

Good Search (search engine that donates for every search to the charity you choose, and also has many online partners that donate for purchases)
http://www.goodsearch.com/

And as always...THANK YOU for your continued support of OpFTH

disclaimer, I, ypetryna, am not an agent of OpFTH. Todd usually throws this party but he is unable to do so but it needs to happen so I volunteer, not that I do much other than get this started and keep track of the prize donations and drawing.

Thank You

PS – any suggestions or if you find any errors with this post please let me know so I can update the thread appropriately. Thank you.

address is the same . only thing we changed for book keeping purposes was the email address for paypal. they both work but the [email protected] links directly to the OpFTH checking acct and we get emails when donations are made to that account.

It is time for the "Official" Start to this year's festivities.

Consider it started . . . I'll put up a "spearprize" for the raffle, and pledge $20 a month thru Paypal.
(Don't fret, Bill . . . June's donation is forthcoming.)

Another suggestion, maybe we should extend the date for donations this year since it was started late? Thought an extra week would give more people time to donate prizes and funds.

The prizes offered up are updated as soon as i see them.
The donors are added as soon as i get confirmation from Schmitty/a transaction id/tracking # for packages. (i have a running paper copy of names mentioned for ease since i prefer paper, but i will update this as i get more info)

The prizes will be randomly drawn and awarded to those who donate. I will post a winners list. In order to keep it as simple as possible, the winner will need to contact the awarder and arrange for delivery.

I thought I mentioned this, but apparently didn't.
DM confirmations to me and I'll add you to the list. If you wish to remain anonymous, let me know.

to make life a little easier, i will check this in the morning to see who donated to OpFTH. as soon as i see
Anyone who donates a prize, i will update in the morning when i see it.

if it matters, the order is just based on what i see first, or what i type first, or where i come back to when i return from distractions.

i have no issues with this, extending out to 7.9.17. it helps out the people that are planning on getting out of town for the holiday and are currently busy, and saves others a time crunch when we get slammed on our return to a 3 day work week.

COPIED FROM LAST YEAR'S FUNDRAISER FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION
Once again, I will put this out there . . .
A monthly pledge to OpFTH is a GREAT way to donate to this fundraiser.
Even if you give just $5 a month, at the end of the year, you will have given enough to ship four packages to the troops.
It's easy and it doesn't put a hurtin' on your wallet. It also affords Schmitty a steady income for shipping expenses.
PLEASE consider this option. Thank you !

As in past years, I will pledge $20 a month, and as usual donate the annual "spearprize" to the prize pool.

Let's make this year's CAT fundraiser the BEST one EVER !

Thank you, and GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

I will get some cigars out to OpFTH in the next couple of days and should be able to get a check out with it.

I am going to forgo being in the running for a prize. (Retirement is next Friday and we close on the house in less than a month) Saying that I am busy is a complete understatement.

I will also pony up a Okie Smokey Package.

David.

"Y" thanks for taking the reigns on this.

Thanks for getting this done, ypetryna! You're a good man.

I've donated $50, through the paypal email at OpFth...Transaction ID: 6CR58962WH898894G, June 28, 2017.

For the past two years, I've also scheduled a $10 automatic donation via Paypal every month to OpFTH, which I will continue indefinitely...

To encourage more donations, I will contribute another box of SoCal Sunshine this year!

Tell'em how painless it is to do this, Al.
If EVERYBODY on these forums pledged just $5 a month, (That's about half the price of a premium cigar.), Schmitty's postage coffers would be looking pretty good.

Nope, those steps only show me what monthly charges I have active at the moment. Don't see anywhere to add a new monthly charge. This is weird that I can't figure this out, seems like it should be a simple process.

Ah, looked on the Paypal forums and it says that the charity must have the option on their website with the PP Donate button which I just tried and it is not capable of doing monthly payments. It's wierd that some of you are able to do so though. Paypal is a little messy for stuff like this I guess.
