God he's so dumb....
What does he mean by internet taxes? And why would the Washington post pay them?

Next thing you know he's going to tweet about getting HepC from people peeing on the street.

Didn't open the article, but it seems obvious to anyone who isn't wholly consumed by media-induced hatred towards everything Trump that "internet taxes" would mean taxes levied on sales of goods or services sold through the internet.

If you need any more assistance just let us know.

.... Tail. There are no business responsible "internet taxes" on sale of goods through the internet.

Sales taxes are state mandated. Internet crosses state boundaries.

You are responsible for paying your sales taxes on goods you buy outside the state and bring into the state.

So again. WTF sort of moron would tweet that a newspaper isn't paying their internet taxes?

Clarification. If the internet seller has a physical presence in the state it's delivered to, they have a responsibility.

This becomes much less clear when we are talking subscriptions as there is no physical delivery.

The tweet:
The #AmazonWashingtonPost, sometimes referred to as the guardian of Amazon not paying internet taxes (which they should) is FAKE NEWS!

Trump is at war with the Post (owned by Amazon).
Trump thinks there should be a tax on goods/services provided through the internet.

He said they currently don't pay them (which is a true statement).
He said they should (which a reasonable person would understand that he feels there should be a tax).

I don't agree with an internet tax.
But my opinion has nothing to do with being befuddled by the term.
Your mileage may vary.

Massachusetts is looking to eliminate that definition by making ALL internet sales subject to sales tax.

And newspapers and periodical subscriptions are frequently exempt from state sales taxes ...

So how would "internet taxes" (god he's dumb) even apply?

Tail. Amazon (the retailer) does charge sales tax. In all states which have them. Go look. Try buying something on Amazon. Go to checkout... there's a tax line. I just tested it.

The tweet by the idiot in chief is directed at the Washington post. The Washington post sells newspaper subscriptions. Not goods and services.

And your excuse that he "is at war with the post"?? That's somehow acceptable? Do I have to remind you that he is the president of the United States and is supposed to act like it? Jesus f $cking christ... if obama had tweeted crap about brietbart and liberals had excused it as "he's at war with breitbart" your head would have f#cking exploded.

You serious?

The Washington Post is owned by the Amazon dude.
The tweet says "the Guardian of Amazon" should pay internet taxes.

Last time I looked, Amazon sold a bit more than newspapers and periodicals.
But I could be mistaken...

Amazon is not "the guardian of amazon". If he wanted to refer to Amazon's taxes he would have f#cking said "Amazon isn't paying taxes" (which they are, so even that would be a f $cking lie).
If he's talking about "the guardian of amazon" he's referring to a different entity than amazon... hey that's the Washington post... also mentioned... and who you even identifies as who he has a feud with....

And they are a newspaper and therefore frequently exempt from sales tax!

The Post is owned by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.

His feud is with the Post, and therefore with Bezos and by extension with Amazon.

I honestly thought you were kidding when didn't understand.

This TDS* has put your reasoning skills to rest.

Again. Then if he's talking about Amazon he's flat out lying.

Choose it.

Either way he's a moron as "internet tax" isn't a thing.
Either way he's a moron because he can't write a complete sentence that doesn't require interpretation.
If he's referring to Amazon, the president of the United States is lying about a company because he has a widdle feud with their ownership.
If he's referring to Washington post, the president of the United States is singling out a newspaper and claiming it needs to pay nonexistent taxes... because he has a feud with them.

Either way we have a moron for a president who dangerously overstepping the bounds of our democracy.

But his sentence clearly states "referred to as the guardian of amazon". Sentence structure indicates that the subject of his moronic sentence would not be Amazon itself but the "guardian of amazon".

You're frustration is obviously due to not being able to understand the situation.

I've explained it well.
The term "internet tax" is not nearly as outlandishly preposterous as you are making it out to be. I told you how MA is looking to make sales tax mandatory on internet sales. The politicos in town call it an "internet tax". Gasp!

As for which one's Bezos would have?
The guy is the CEO for Amazon. The biggest big industry that our big world has ever bigly seen.
They sell (wait for it)....on the Internet.

So when you understand (there's that pesky word again) that Amazon has been not had to pay state sales tax for it's two decade existence you can see how the blow-hard Trump would blurt out what he did.
You say I'm "defending" Trump.
But again you're not even close.
I abhor the thought of a new tax on Internet sales, especially if it's suggested at the Federal level.

I just couldn't sit here and watch you floundering around spewing insensitive remarks about our president's skin color and hating everything he says even if it's not the outrageous fiction that you claim it is.

You're welcome.

Jesus Christ tail...

Even in your ridiculous contortions the tweet is a lie.

Jesus Christ tail... in your contortions your idiot idol is tweeting about a tax that might be proposed some time in the future but criticizing a single company for not paying this tax that doesn't yet exist?

And again... Bezos doesn't owe a damn penny in tax (fake internet or otherwise) because he didn't sell a damn thing. Amazon did. Amazon pays taxes on its sales.

If your idiotic orange idols tweets require this much analysis because his English grammar is below 4th grade level, then your idiot idol needs to find a different job.

It is disgraceful that our president would tweet something like that (on any interpretation) it's even more disgraceful that it would require such contortions of reality to interpret a statement from the president of the usa.

“… Amazon, which, through its ownership, controls the Washington Post, should be paying massive taxes -- but it’s not paying, and it’s a very unfair playing field and you see what that’s happening and what that’s doing to department stores all over the country," Trump said. "Very, very unfair. And you’re talking about billions and billions of dollars. They should be paying those taxes.”

I agree we shouldn't have to analyze everything... but I also don't think he needs to be attacked over it... Mellow

That is incorrect in very significant ways.

1 - ownership of amazon and Washington post is separate. Bezos owns both but they are two separate companies. The Washington post does not own amazon.

2 - Amazon pays sales taxes. Go check yourself I did today to make sure I was stating a fact. Maybe the president of the United States should do the same f@cking thing before opening his moronic orange hole.

3 - there is absolutely no justification for the president of the United States to single out one company on "internet taxes" (especially falsely, because he's a moron and can't do anything right). If he actually thought taxes on internet sales was a problem then he should address it across all companies like a normal person.

This stupid **** needs to be pointed out more, not less. Out idiot in chief shouldn't be treated with kid gloves because he's got a sensitive little ego and is a moron who can't keep his mouth shut.

Seriously...... none of you would have let some b.s. like this fly when Obama was president. Why's it ok suddenly ... just because we already know Trump is too stupid to actually do something right so we've set the bar low?

Vic,

Let's pretend I'm a billionaire.
But I work for an evil corporation so I don't pay taxes.

Now let's say I coach a T-ball team.

If I'm a jerk to you and you get mad when your team loses to mine, you can tweet or instaface about how much a jerk I am.
You might say: That jerk coaching the TBall team is a jerky jerk and he owes billions in taxes.

Nobody would think that you meant I owed taxes from TBall.

Well, unless it was Trump.
And the media told you so.

LOL!
But you are correct on at least one point: Trump sounds like an idiot's idiot.
But your mewling makes his tweets pale in comparison.
Maybe because we know what you mean, even when you're confused.
Like now.

But it's all good.
TDS can be cured.
You can wait for the next election cycle. Or you could stop letting the MSM control you like a puppet.
Your call.

Jesus Christ tail... you're getting further and further from his statement.

Do we need to map out the sentence structure for you? Or just because it's so horribly inaccurate and convoluted you just give it a pass?

There is no evidence bezos personally owes "internet taxes" so there is no reason for the president of the United States to incorrectly make an official statement that he does.

There is no evidence that the Washington post owes "internet taxes" so there is no reason for the president of the United States to incorrectly make an official statement that it does.

Amazon currently collects "internet taxes" to ensure compliance in all states. Previous to this decision the onus of paying these "internet taxes" is on the consumer anyway, so Amazon does not owe "internet taxes" and there is no reason for the president of the United States to incorrectly make an official statement that it does.

It's just amazing to me what you find acceptable these days.

Oh... we want to play healthcare lies?

Trump on healthcare:
During campaign - "I am going to take care of everybody. I don’t care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now." Sept 2015

“You will end up with great health care for a fraction of the price and that will take place immediately after we go in. Immediately! Fast! Quick!” Feb 2016

As President, when referring to Republican House Healthcare bill -
"Our wonderful new Healthcare Bill is now out for review and negotiation. ObamaCare is a complete and total disaster - is imploding fast!" 07Mar17 twitter

(note the bill he is discussing in march does not fulfill his promises earlier)

"It was a GREAT day for the United States of America! This is a great plan that is a repeal & replace of ObamaCare. Make no mistake about it." - 05May17 twitter in response to the house passing the healthcare bill note he says it is a great plan, even though it doesn't meet his promises.

Trump then 'calls the same healthcare bill "mean" in a private meeting (reported not quoted) 20Jun17

Trump then confirms he called it mean when he says "Well he actually used my term, 'mean.' That was my term,".... "Because I want to see -- and I speak from the heart -- that's what I want to see, I want to see a bill with heart."

Now we have a Senate bill ... we'll see what he says about this and what he'll say if it passes... then what he'll say a week later.

-Picks up mic, hands it back to anthony because he did a piss poor job. :)

Bezos and the Washington Post was the real target of Trump's peevish tweet. WAPO has been slamming him pretty hard, from day one, and Bezos' net worth is 50 times, prolly more, than his. Trump can't stand being second to anyone. I'm surprised any conservative/GOP would defend the tweet, which basically calls for a new tax, which pre-Trump, was a pox for any GOP President. Yet Trump is defended, gets a pass...

...at some point the "Hillary would've been worse" defense will no longer play. She has been relegated to the historic dumpster, and using her as a foil to defend Trump will be as hollow as "yah, but your momma wears combat boots"...
