we've all admitted Trump tweets stupid chit sometimes.... but to let a meaningless, irrelevant tweet get under your skin to where your disparaging and insulting the man is comical... I wonder what he'll tweet today..?? I'll bet Victor will be all over it when it happens... Mellow

It will PLAY as you put it until Trump's four year term is up....and we DID dodge a bullet. She lied as SOS, she's as dishonest as they come and her " offspring " will be no better as they groom her for their style of politics.

Where did I use " despise " when referring to Chelsea? So you don't think Bill and Hitlery are grooming her for Democraptic politics? And you believe they're filling her with moral fortitude??? LMAO Mkay

That too seems rational and objective.....yup

They're not exactly meaningless or irrelevant. According to the Whitehouse they are now official presidential statements. Which carry the weight of the office and the United States. So his "stupid chit", as you put it, represents the United States. horse

Some would argue that typing or putting something in writing carries more weight than verbal. It's really strange to love someone so much that you will ignore the written word

I don't think anybody actually defended Trump, at least on this post.

I know that I stated clearly that I'm against a new tax on internet sales.

Trouble is, the trump-hate is so deep that otherwise intelligent people are rendered to blubbering idiots.

If Trump has a million lies, why do we see such fervor over this tweet, which is not a lie if a reasonable person reads it. Sure, our crazed friend Victor keeps crying about the term "internet tax", but sound logic reveals the true intent which was to poke Bezos who owns the dreaded Post and is CEO of that mom and pop Amazon thingy.

So I repeat: The tweet is ridiculous. It shouldn't be tweeted by the POTUS. It's petty and it suggest a new tax that I would be opposed to.

Sorry for defending trump so adamantly...

But no I actually appreciate it. At least he isn't lying. He is what he is and it's cool by me. You know where you stand. Politics is politics and it's no reason to get upset or dislike someone. Tease or make fun of... cool... hate or dislike not so much. It's just politics. Hopefully he feels the same way but that's not really clear.

sigh.

Ok. Humor me.
Here's the quote:
The #AmazonWashingtonPost, sometimes referred to as the guardian of Amazon not paying internet taxes (which they should) is FAKE NEWS!

Tell me how this is a lie.

Are you mad because he sometimes refers to the Post as the Guardian of Amazon?
That bastid!

Or because he invented a term to describe taxes paid on the sale of goods on the world wide web?
The horror!

Or that he called the Post "fake news"?
Not really a new claim, is it?

C'mon man.
Admit it.
This isn't a lie.
You just hate trump.
To the point where what you say doesn't matter, as long as it's against Trump.

Yet for those who are concerned about how the 1 & 2 amendment might be reinterpreted , which judicial philosophy might take over the Supreme Court . ,those who held their nose to vote for evil number 2 over evil number 1, I can understand their position; whether I agree or disagree with them on this or that point.

Post 34.
Victor's "proof" of Trump lying.

victor809 wrote:
Jesus Christ tail... you're getting further and further from his statement.

Do we need to map out the sentence structure for you? Or just because it's so horribly inaccurate and convoluted you just give it a pass?

There is no evidence bezos personally owes "internet taxes" so there is no reason for the president of the United States to incorrectly make an official statement that he does.

There is no evidence that the Washington post owes "internet taxes" so there is no reason for the president of the United States to incorrectly make an official statement that it does.

Amazon currently collects "internet taxes" to ensure compliance in all states. Previous to this decision the onus of paying these "internet taxes" is on the consumer anyway, so Amazon does not owe "internet taxes" and there is no reason for the president of the United States to incorrectly make an official statement that it does.

It's just amazing to me what you find acceptable these days.

Trump isn't saying this.
At all.

His sentence structure is pathetically poor, even by Twitter standards.
But he's saying two things:
1. The Washing Post is fake news.
2. The Post is the guardian of Amazon and Amazon doesn't pay internet taxes, but trump feels they should.

You and I both think the tweet is stupid.
I disagree with Trump's statement.
You have crossed your arms and are stamping your feet because you want it to be a lie. As if that is somehow the point. But it's not.

And don't worry.
He WILL tweet out something else that IS a lie. Or at least inaccurate.

But this isn't that tweet.

Internet taxes don't exist.
Your argument is that Trump is singling out a single American company in a public presidential statement and saying that they should be paying a tax which does not exist at this point in time.... The implication here is that he is also saying we should have an internet tax.

I can't tell if that interpretation is more or less dumb than him simply lying about them not paying sales tax.

... and why do you believe your interpretation of this moronic tweet is the correct one? Has the orange moron ever made statements in the past regarding his belief there should be an "internet tax"?

...which is more likely.. a Republican president is demanding a new tax on businesses... or Trump doesn't bother fact checking his statements before he makes them?
