First off, Happy 4th everyone.!
Ok so I did a search and came up empty. I wanted to see if anyone buys cigars from Cuban Crafters and what sticks are worth it. They always have bundles on sale but are these what some of you guys call "dog rockets"? Any feedback is appreciated.

The way I found out about them was from a cigar cutter review I saw online (The perfect cutter). Went and purchased one and noticed all the different smokes.

You'd probably be better off buying a pouch of black & milds.

Hear the have some good oak "sticks" and elm. Hickory is pretty good as well. I stick to smoking cigars these days, though I did smoke a brisket over the weekend.

I only use oak logs. Sticks can have too much trash on them making the smoke taste bitter; same with mesquite/hickory/pecan. They might be ok for coals but really pecan/hickory produce too much ash mesquite is reasonable for coals it burns a little hotter than oak but not near as much as cedar. When I make coals for barbecue (less smoke than smoking) you can bet I'll throw a few cedar logs on the starter pile to get it good and hot then I'll come in and round it out with the oak so that the coals run the temperature they need to be for duration of the brisket. Come to think of it, I really do use sticks but only for the initial light, after that it's all logs.

I'm a republican far from being a Democrat. I love my country my cigars and my whiskey. So keep your assumptions to yourself. I don't want this to turn off topic. So if you have any opinions on those cigars, then great if not keep your comments to yourself.

Yes but it wasn't for advertisement. I understand the rules. I don't know how I could have asked my question without mentioning the site. I'll just buy and try on my own without sharing if it doesn't involve C-bid and be a little more methodical when posting next time. Thanks for clearing that up Steve. Herfing

No, it was so you could talk about your little twig. Face it, you're a douchebag. You were given a pass at first. didn't take it, NOOOOO! You went full retard. You want it, you earned it. Take your little sticks to StickBid.com because you're on CIGARBID.COM. You cannot smoke a stick. You can light it on fire but you're not going to smoke it. Stop pretending you are. All the idiots that use "sticks" to describe a cigar are idiots. You might be their leader. Peddle your crap somewhere else...nobody wants your crap.

You're taking this too personal and you need to calm down with your words. You calling me a douchebag and an idiot is going overboard. I think you're the one that's going off the deep end. how about you act your age and refrain from making all kinds of childish comments. I already acknowledged my mistake. You should have something to drink smoke a cigar calm down. I'll be more than happy to have the admins take down my post. Because I'm not trying to advertise for anyone. It was just a question and I was curious about those cigars.

I formally apologize to DMV. I'm sorry I was the cause of him having high blood pressure while banging away on his keyboard. Now I hope his boyfriend gives him a backrub and brings him a beer while he shows him this apology. Once again I'm sorry DMV I hope you're still not seething.

First off, it's great to see you use the word "sticks"! It really annoys all the self-important douchebags around here who laughably think they're the "language police" who decide what words are okay and not-okay. Very sad, but hilarious.

Cuban Crafters is the late Don Kiki Berger's company (may he rest in peace), and they make some good self-branded sticks. The Don Kiki Red is my favorite of all his sticks, but I hear the green and brown are good too. But for your first stick or bundle, I'd recommend the Red.

Hope that helps!

It does. Ill give them a try. I call cigars sticks because 15 years ago when I got my first humidor from a local shop, I meet an old Vietnam Vet. He referred to the cigars I was buying as...Sticks!. "Themes is good sticks" The owner of the shop called them sticks as well. So that's what I call them. Thanks again for the info.

...another Cupido Tuxedo fan. They are occasionally offered there at a very special price...that's the time to buy...then let them sit for a few months...I have a few that are at least two years old, and they're great...

By the way, the Cuban Crafters cigar cutters are pretty good. I bought a guillotine with a backstop in 2011 and it is still razor sharp...with a lifetime warranty.

Warning: ZRX might not be safe...he's had sword fights with just about all the guys here...

Thank you. I can definitely buy a few and leave them in the bottom of my humidor. By the time I finish smoking all the ones I have they'll be nicely aged.

I second that. While you're buying their sticks, do yourself a favor and get their "Perfect Cutter" also (the name of the one delta1 is referring to above). Stays sharp seemingly indefinitely, lifetime warranty in case it dulls, and the backstop is really nice. It even has a small hole in the backstop that handles pigtail caps, and "fuse" caps (e.g. 601 La Bomba, Diesel Unlimited d.nt, etc.)

For any stick that's not a torpedo, I use it. Love it. The backstop really does provide a perfect cut, basically every time, on round-head sticks

I'm a big fan of several of the Cuban Crafters blends. The Don Kiki Brown label and the CC Cameroon are my favorites. I'm not a big fan of Connecticut shade wrappers, but the Don Kiki White label Limited edition are probably the some of the best I've had. The La Carolina is decent too although a bit mild and hit or miss (I've had really good boxes and really average to bad boxes). If you want to read a few dated reviews go here: www.stogieguys.com. I am not sure of the quality control since Don Kiki Berger passed away. I have not had the Brown label in a while (they are not always available), but was IMHO, a great cigar for the money.
