Just received La Palina Black from CI, unwrapped one lit it and found 3 beetle holes in cigar. Upon further examination from a 5 pack concluded 2 more hade holes.. 3 out 5 Lost.. these cigars were in wrappers so had to be from factory.. I'm a big!!! La Palina Fan but this really sucks that a company would market these cigars under these conditions... Are we as consumers that naive or do they think it won't get back to them? Has anyone had isssue with these cigars?

I am not sure blaming the factory is the problem. Beetles exist no matter what factory a cigar is from. They only are a problem if they are improperly stored. So yes they were there when the cigars were wrapped. Just like the box of La Palina's I have. What you dont know is what happened between packaging and delivery.

My advice would be to reach out to CI rather than airing complaints on here and basically bashing a cigar company that had absolutely nothing to do with your problem.

Regardless isolate them from your regular stock.Eggs or an actual beetle may be present........not something you want to go through.Voice of experience here.

BTW not that it would've helped here but every cigar that enters my home goes through a 72 hour welcome party in my freezer. Not taking any chances anymore.

Oh yea.......smoked one last night with a gin & tonic, great flavor but it does not like to stay lit.Granted I'm a slow smoker but these seem to be fire retardant

Ron, Ron, Ron! We don't use the word "retardant" anymore.

Very insensitive.

The proper term is now "burn challenged".

Try to keep up.

I've heard they call them "Non-Flamers" in some parts of the country Whistle

About a month ago I retired from being retired. But, I'm working for myself so I set my own hours. Worked from about 9:00 until 12:30 today. Took off early since it's my birthday.

When I got home, I saw a facebook post from a friend who is rebuilding her house since it flooded. Ended up riding over to look at the house and give her an estimate on the trim carpentry and flooring.

Stopped by a small sawmill on the way home to inquire about some straight grained sinker cypress and ended up BSing with the owner for about half an hour. Didn't get back until 4:30ish. So much for only working half a day.

A word of advice, don't retire when you're 50 1/2. After about a year and a half, I ran out of things to do.

LOL

Hopefully not as excited as bob ross would be with a couple cans of paint thinner, an 8'x8' blank canvas and the happiest lil trees and bushes on his mind.
