^^What a good grandkid.

Solar would take me a very long time to see any value. Small house, small yard, don't use a ton of electricity to begin with. Plus... I plan on leaving here in 7 years, and I'd still likely be 10+ years from seeing a return on investment.

I spend about 900-1100 dollars on electricity each year. Spending 25k on a solar system is just stupid for me. If you have a big house, with a pool and such, and spend 3-4k a year on power... it makes sense.

Job interview tomorrow.

Probably gonna be hung over.

Not sure if I'll take it or leave it. Hard to give up my week on week off schedule. Plus it's a pay cut, and more hours.

Considered it yes.

But have wife n kid.

Wife said she's not okay with me being on the road.

I'd be up for it. Double base pay or more, never stay anywhere long enough to hate it, away from home... all plusses to me.

I'd love to drag the camper around the country, stay at state parks for $20/day and pocket the 1500-2k/mo living stipend in most contracts.

Do it! You don't like the wife and kid anyway... doesn't matter if they are happy with you.

Still doesn't explain why you'd interview for a job that you know you won't take. Pay cut, and a fucked up schedule? No.

I was lucky enough that my wife was for it. The stipend I always took. I would find a place that was cheap on rent vs corporate housing and pocket the rest. I told my wife if she was good or not with it being my life and my job. If she didn't like it then she better start being the one bringing home the most bacon. For her to dictate how I made OUR income is BS. I didnt go to college to half azz my income. If so I would have stayed in factory work. Now dont end up in a divorce lmaooo..... :-" Speak to the hand Speak to the hand Speak to the hand Now that I have had the stroke and the shoe is on the other foot. If my wife comes to me and ask would you mind if I take X job. My response is hey its your life, you are now the bacon winner its your choice either way I got your back.

I would imagine it is fairly simple, At times especially in medical, The pay cut and mucked up schedule is worth it when trimming out all the BS that comes with the current job. Good Lord knows I have done it just for morality sake and patient care. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHfan71zHKk

My son's lease agreement had something similar about keeping the thermostat in a certain temp range all year. They also want them to change the air filter every month in the HVAC system. He's renting a house in IL.

Yup, change the air filter every month. Just gotta go in to the office and grab a new one.

I don't know that I won't take it. I suspect I will. It's an internal transfer, so I'm only locked in for 6 months and can transfer again if I want.

It's a huge move away from the B.S. that's continued to pile on us. The pay cut is because I'll be working days, and no longer in charge. We get extra 15% for working nights and I think $2/hr for being in charge.

It'll be a more "normal" schedule. Mon-Fri, no weekend or holidays (except when on call) plus a call schedule. The call schedule is what I want to find out about with interview and what will make the decision for me.

Gotta try something different before I give up seniority and go to a different hospital system.

Interview took an hour and a half. Seemed like it went well, but my current manager could block the transfer so gotta wait on that.

Called insurance to open a claim on my truck. Got body shop quote, $3500 ish.

Re: 475 - I understand. I'm currently working the 9 day 80 hour schedule, all days, weekends and holidays off. I took the spot for a break from the floor monotony and the night shift.

I'm ready to go back now, and make like 10% more and have more days off.

No arguments from me.....I read some of your posts.

Three days in...won't be as bad as I imagined....but pretty massive job, nonetheless.

We managed to convince ourselves that we can get away with minimal sanding....thorough cleaning with a lot of attention to detail...followed by two coats of some hot-sh|t primer recommended strongly by the gal at Benjamin Moore....said that stuff will stick to and cover anything....we'll see. Nightmare worst case scenario involves peeling within 30 days and having to do it all over again. Got a good jump on it this weekend...hopefully, it will be put back together in the next two weeks.

Anyone have any experience with cleaning, painting and reusing hinges? I've done the interweb thing...just looking for first-hand gouge

The hardware is all off. Decent hinges look to be about $50-$70. Not terrible, but the ones I got are in good shape..just the wrong color. I'm actually more concerned (LAZY) about drilling new holes and realigning the doors....done it before and its a major pita. I'd kinda like to use the old screws and screw holes, if they'll still be secure.

Just do it once and build a template or jig for the others.. if they're the wrong color you may as well buy new.. they make some that pretty much align themselves.. just my opinion tho.. Mellow
