Odd match up when you think about it. The best of Europe against the 17th best- last year.

It's almost always a strange one. I'll watch, but won't be invested. Glorified friendly.

well, we hit the beach in Rhode Island, but not Misquamicut, Shawn.
Ended up in Newport at Second Beach. Only an hour from home, nice beach but not special, though the area is beautiful.

Rode around after the beach, lots of For Sale signs, even in the Mansion area. Put in a low-ball offer on The Breakers but probably won't get it...HA!
Hard to believe those joints were merely Summer homes for the fabulously wealthy.

Stopped at Newport Vineyards for a glass of wine, they had some music going out back, really lovely way to end the day. Home now and packed for Nantucket tomorrow...see y'all Saturday night.

Yeah, Frank... my usual beach was the North Kingstown town beach. Newport was too spendy for a poor kid. And I'd have had to ride my bike over a couple big bridges.

I know a carpenter that only wore shoes while traveling on vacation. He worked as a handyman near the beach. Not sure how he did it with so many foot hazards. He did this for 25 years......he had hobbit looking feet.

You can tell when a mans belly gets in the way of putting on his shoes. Just look at his shoes if the bows are tied to the inside then yep belly to big to stoop over.Think

Nice family walk along the shore of Lake Michigan.

Wife, son, and dog all happy.

In a few hours, I begin burning through that meager supply of goodwill.

Been a rough several months at work. Coworkers leaving in droves... new hires leaving within 6 months. Can't keep anyone around that's worth keeping.

Long story short the hospital cancelled their relationship with the cardiovascular surgery group as they wanted more control, wanted the group to be hospital owned. We had several world class surgeons. Did heart surgery on patients who were even referred internationally. Had an incredible program. Not to say there weren't bad cases but I was proud of what I did.

The hospital contracted a new group. It's been a train wreck. They came in last fall and I keep hoping things will improve but it's been absolutely awful. Horrible patient outcomes are routine now.

I'm 7 years in and the two more senior nurses than me are just holding out to maximize pensions, and this is the final year to calculate average so they'll be leaving in January. Of note, when I started the senior staff was about 20 people with 10+ years there. It took a couple years to get on staff. I wanted to work there, that was my goal during school was to work in this department when I was done. I was hired post pension. I've stuck around because of my kickass week on week off schedule. But I'm starting to feel like that's not even worth it anymore. I don't know how much longer I can do this. I'm tired of disabling, and killing people. Especially when my own research has shown that managing these cases differently would present a more favorable outcome. But I'm just a peon, and I've been instructed to just follow orders and not cause trouble.

Not sure the schedule is worth the stress anymore.

Drunk again at 9am. Living the dream...
