Saw a little headline link thingy that said supporters of that Kapernick (or, whatever his name is) are calling for a boycott of the NFL.

I guess, you know, so Kapernick won't get paid, or something... Think

Haven't tuned in for a game in 2-3 years already, wife tuned in the Colts last night ( I headed out for a movie and a cigar ) I'm DONE with the NFL until clearer more RATIONAL minds take it back and STOP allowing these " special snowflakes" to use their job and national TV to air their stained laundry. And to be quite honest...I DON'T miss it @ ALL and I won't likely be back fog

I think they need to worry about the other side. Nobody wants politics in their football.

Oh, I went back and actually looked at the article... BigGrin

Looks like no team has signed him yet.

Which is why I'm not watching... or ESPN (except boxing).

I only watch it if happens to come on one of the AFN channels... I don't go looking for it.

Kinda sad... but the whole world is becoming kinda sad any more.

Ironic! His whole stance of not standing actually started when he was no longer good enough to start so he sat on the sidelines pouting like a petulant child. And now nobody wants to sign him as a backup because he's no longer that good of a player. He's certainly good enough to be a backup, but he's also not worth the drama that comes with it. I find it idiotic that ESPN feels the need to report the other sitters/kneelers after every week of games. And dumber yet is the teammates that have started standing next to one of these clowns and extending an arm to their shoulder. ram27bat

The NAACP in Atlanta wants to form a large "tailgate" that refuses to go into the game. Thereby creating an empty stadium and a defacto boycott.

Won't work.

Parking costs money. The losers who would side with the cause won't pay to protest. You need a job to do that...

Doesn't matter anyway, all of those games are probably sold out anyway. While they'd lose on concessions they'll still make money off the tick to sold and tv and save on cleanup. Then of course the same people would boycott over the cleanup crew not being paid...I'm sure it's all the fault of the POTUS anyway.

Haven't watched a game the last two seasons. Don't plan to watch any this season. Good riddance.

I've pretty much quit watching but it has nothing to do with any of the hubbub like Kappernuts. I don't care at all if they sit, stand, or dance during the National Anthem. I quit watching because has become boring and I have better things to do

I plan on watching a lot, hope to catch every Patriots' game at least.

CK has no affect on me, though he does get worse press than the neo-nazis

I gave up on the NFL 25 years ago, when the Rams left town...rarely watched, unless my kids were at the house and tuned in a Seahawks game. They became Seahawks fans because Pete Carroll was their coach and he brought a bunch of USC (their college) players with him.

Now they've talked me into playing in their fantasy football league, so I'm a casual fan, watching more for players I've drafted, than for a rooting interest in a team. Kinda weird to watch football and look at and care more for a single player and ignore the two teams playing...

I'm thinking of dropping my hate for the Rams though...too many memories of being a Rams fan when I was young, and seeing the horned helmet in LA again dredged them up...

It's not just the kneeling, but the kneeling and encouraging said kneeling is a topper on an already declining sport.

The ticky tac fouls on quarterbacks. Not being able to hit receivers on poorly thrown balls. No endzone celebrations, dumb ass witch hunts etc...

The league has been in decline for a long time. I'll watch more when they fire Roger Goodell. Probably won't happen though because revenues are up (hard to believe it's because anything he's done though).

Ditto all except the last part.

They will be down for sure this year. It'll be hard to ignore the empty seats. Advertisers are already cutting back on what they're willing to spend.

Goodell has been a lightning rod of controversy ever since he took the job. He needs to go.

Bring on the NCAAF!

I've also paid more attention to college football, living in a town with two high profile NCAA teams (USC and UCLA), and until the past year or so, without an NFL team...

If you believe the numbers, the NFL is the most popular sport in America...by a long way...and seems poised to expand here, in Europe and in Asia. They'll do fine without any of us...
