Okay! Newbie (aka "Bag" so far!) just made his first major mistake in smoking a cigar!

Being from Texas, we often remind our Yankee visitors when serving them tamales that they should first remove the corn husk before eating them!

This evening, I went to the back patio in the dark and started to light my 5 Vegas series A cigar. First mistake... Unwrapping and lighting a cigar in the dark!

I forgot that the cigars had a cedar wrapping! After getting the cigar lit, and taking several puffs, I wondered why I could not see an ash forming at the end! The smoke was certainly there! Then I realized that I had not taken off the cedar wrapping!

Please please tell me that someone else has made similar errors when smoking their cigars!? Lol

sorry, no.

but we do grow and eat corn in the northeast and never eat husks...Squanto taught us before Texas existed, so I guess we're one up on ya.

for future reference, remove the band if you plan to nub the cigar.

you're welcome

Lmao, I have been drunk, had a stroke, and still I have not made that mistake. I did put the toilet paper in the freezer one time while helping the wife put away groceries thinking that is where it was suppose to go.

I have stopped a few people from doing that... friends don't let friends light cigars badly.... Though it is fun to watch sometimes. Almost as much fun as watching someone light a cig backwards... man that filter stinks... well cigs stink too.

Sorry, can't say that I have done that...but then again I haven't tried to light something when it is so dark I can't see the cigar (not even while drunk).

Make sure you try Leaf by Oscar and be sure to not take off the out leaves.

I came close...while smoking a cigar in the dark, I forgot that the paper band was a large one...puffed away until the smoke got hot and tasted like paper...

Not even a Tennesse or Kentucky gambler would even make that mistake. I suggest you find a new home state because clearly you weren't cut from the same fabric as the native sons of Texas.

Paaaaleaseeeee....

Tell me your NOT ONE OF THOSE "HUSK THE CORN" @ the store kinda guys....

That trait IRK's me to NO END !!!!

You put the corn in a bag,
You buy the corn at checkout,
You take the corn home,
When your ready to cook it?
You husk the corn over old newspaper or an open Brown paper bag...

Never made that mistake but have tried a couple of times to light cigars with the cedar sleeves. Didn’t work for me as the sleeves burned too fast.
